Obama And The Jews (Clinton Campaign distributing article)
The Atlantic ^ | March 25, 2008 | Marc Ambinder

Posted on 03/25/2008 11:21:14 PM PDT by cdchik123

The Clinton campaign is distributing an article in the American Spectator (!) about Obama foreign policy adviser Merrill McPeak and his penchant for.. well, the article accuses him of being an anti-Semite and a drunk. Principally, the author takes McPeak to task for supporting a Middle East map that would require Israel to withdraw to its pre-1967 border. It also makes the case that McPeak supports the Walt-Mearsheimer view of the influence of the Israeli lobby on foreign policy.

Merrill McPeak

"..Criticism

McPeak has been criticized[4] for speaking out against Israel's settlement policies in the Palestinian territories and the lack of U.S. political will to stop them:

"I think that everybody understands that a settlement of the Arab-Israeli problem would require the Israelis to stop settling the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and maybe even withdraw some of the settlements that've already been put there."[3]

McPeak also criticized the influence of the Israel lobby in the United States and the Christian Zionist movement on U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East:

"Let's say that one of your abiding concerns is the security of Israel as opposed to a purely American self-interest, then it would make sense to build a dozen or so bases in Iraq. Let's say you are a born-again Christian and you think that Armageddon and the rapture are about to happen any minute and what you want to do is retrace steps you think are laid out in Revelations, then it makes sense."[4]

In 1976 McPeak contributed an article to Foreign Affairs Journal expressing his views on the Israelis occupation of territories during the 1967 Arab-Israeli War.[5]

McPeak also generated controversy following comments he made at a Barack Obama campaign appearance in Medford, Oregon where he implied that former President Bill Clinton had appeared to question Obama's patriotism:

As one who for 37 years proudly wore the uniform of our country, I'm saddened to see a president employ these tactics, he of all people should know better because he was the target of exactly the same kind of tactics.[6]

Only Muslims, liars and morons thinks if Israel reverts to pre-1967 borders- this brings peace for the Jews of Israel. But the liars don't care if Israel gets destroyed or want Israel to be destroyed. So forcing Israel into the 1967 box is a just a stage in destroying Israel

No surprise the Clintons are circulating this. Also no surprise O-bam is surrounded by anti-semites. This comes just a few articles after another rant by that dreadful shrew of a wife. No barf alert needed, I am sick at the very thought of them.

I served under Gen McPeak in the 90s. I’ll keep it short and just say he was an IDIOT and was “encouraged” to retire. It is a total mystery how he got as far as he did.

Isn’t McPeak the idiot who changed the Airforce uniform to those silly suit jackets?

Clinton. Doing the opposition research McCain doesn’t have to do. It’s better for McCain to stay away and let the Democrats destroy each other. He will gain most of it. Only problem would be Clinton exposing all of Obama’s dirty secrets, til nothing is left for McCain. However Obama is the gift that keeps on giving.

I think there’s a cloaked alien space ship aiming a ray at the planet causing leftists to say and do the dumbest imaginable things this year. I hope they keep it on the leftidiot setting at least through November.

I have met many many Euros who want a retreat to 1967 as if that will somehow make the Palestianians “happy” and stop the insane culture of hate.

Of course. It’s just an experiment for them. If it works, they are vindicated. If not, then it’s only Jews who die, not them.

And when I ask “so if they do move back to 1967, and they still are attacked, what then?”

The sound of the silence is deafening.

Well they are stupid and Jihad is eternal. Koran says wage Jihad until the whole world is Muslim

#2 Plus they figure that if Muslims still wage war after an Israeli retreat to 1967 borders..... They figure no big deal, so I was wrong plus the Jews don't deserve to have an Israel anyway. It just makes for Muslim tensions

#3 Meanwhile the Muslims are conquering Europe (where they live) via demographic warfare

Anyone still think McCain won’t cruise? In New York, a top Jewish Orthodox leader, Dov Hikind has said flatly his people will not vote for Obama. That sentiment among Orthodox Jews will spread to Northern New Jersey ( why BTW McCain is leading Obama in a NJ poll that has gotten very little coverage). It will also spread to the Hudson Valley and Maryland where other communities of Orthodox Jews are.
But of course this will be a big Democrat year. Just ask them and they’ll tell you so.
