I heard the sonic booms a while ago.
Cool...
It’s been more exciting with them having to focus on completion of the ISS and getting away from high school experiments. The last few missions have been really productive.
Thanks for the live thread. I’ll post up links to the NASASpaceFlight live thread tomorrow when it goes live.
It has been a GREAT mission. 5 EVAs, two new international components (DEXTRE from CSA and ELM-PS from JAXA). Also got the T-Rad DTO completed ahead of STS-125.
Next mission will be great, and STS-125 will be the highlight of a VERY eventful year in Shuttleland. STS-124 will be the first since STS-114 (114, 121, 115, 116, 117, 118, 119, 120, 122, 123) NOT to carry an OBSS. Although the OBSS will be on station and the TPS will be cleared before undocking.
The Japanese Kibo module will be completed with the addition of it’s large laboratory module on STS-124. The following flight will be STS-126 which brings an MPLM full of supplies. Then 119 will bring the final truss section and final set of solar arrays to the station.
In 2009, we will see final outfitting of the American side of the station with the launch of Node 3 and the Cupola. We will also see the second ATV from ESA as well as the first HTV from JAXA. 2009 will also see the ISS full-time crew expanded from 3 to 6. This will occur in May 2009 with the launch of a Soyuz TMA carrying Yuri Lonchakov of RSA, Frank De of ESA and Robert Thirsk of CSA. That crew is, however subject to change.
Finally in 2009 we will also see the exposed facility of the Japanese Kibo lab, as well as many supplies and ORUs.
2010 will see final construction of the ISS including the Russian Docking and Cargo Module (newly renamed, don’t know what it is off hand). The final Russian component could be launched anywhere from late 2008 to 2010, that being the Multi-Purpose Laboratory Module (MLM), which will be launched on a Russian Proton rocket. Not much is known about this outside of RSA, and there are conflicting reports about what the final configuration of ISS will be.
Hopefully by the end of this year, NASA will have more DIRECTion and we will be on the way to the Moon and Mars.
I agree with you on that...
Really? Were you in the future?
It depends who wins.. If Obama or Clinton wins forget about the Moon and Mars. That is one of the reasons I’m supporting McCain.
Thanks,
Leni
“Really? Were you in the future?”
ROTFL!!
Well I heard the sonic booms between 7:00 and 8:00p.m.
I thought a car crashed until I remembered the shuttle was landing :-p
Sorry it is going to be 7:01 pm EDT. I thought everyone here knew Military time.
Public school?
Hup, Hup!

My advise to you is just ignore them...
According to the title, this happened two years ago. Did they land safely?
