Leon Panetta should have been governor. But at least his talent will be used trying to straighten out Sacramento.
Panetta and a new team of Capitol outsiders and periphery players have been staked with nearly $16 million by five foundations that are frustrated with the pathetic performance of Sacramento politicians.

And that “Republican” stands a good chance of it as well. These guys can find $16 million for this, but when good conservatives are running to be the governor, they can’t raise a dime for them.
Didn’t that same group of Republicans raise money or support some other brain dead move in the last few years? I rememeber some negative story about them.

Ca is totally controlled by unions and special interest groups that happily support self serving and corrupt politicians who have succeeded in entrenching themselves so well it is impossible to dethrone them. They will not be gone until the state is bankrupt and there is no more for them to take

Leon Panetta, the New Majority, and a bunch of lefty foundations.
Can’t wait to see the “solutions” they have in store for us.

These guys can find $16 million for this, but when good conservatives are running to be the governor, they cant raise a dime for them. You know that's a damn good point. For just a half million they could have guaranteed Tom McClintock in the Controller's office (twice - 94 and 02) holding the purse strings. That alone would have brought to a screeching halt most of the fiscal idiocy of the past decade.

And more money for Simon would have prevented Gray Davis second term and the recall.
That’s why I don’t trust this ‘republican’ any farther than I can drop kick him.
Thanks for your supportive comments.

Leon Pinata could not clean up the mess in the Oval Office so fat chance in Sacramento...

Yep — everything you said.

That’s news to me. It’s now a one-party state with far-leftists rampaging from San Francisco to Sacramento. I say they got the government they deserve. After all, they defeated Arnold’s referendums before he turned left to survive.

Leon Pinata could not clean up the mess in the Oval Office so fat chance in Sacramento... He's been working in Sacramento the last few years as a consultant to Arnie. He is part of the group screwing things up today.

I say they got the government they deserve. After all, they defeated Arnolds referendums before he turned left to survive. More myths.
Arnold's referendums were garbage--and he turned left far before he launched that totally inept campaign.
Perhaps you missed the multi-million acre landgrabs Arnold pushed, the RFK jr. environmental platform he set out, or the massive borrowing and increased spending he promoted --all long before any referendums (which many conservatives voted against, anyway).

"...everything will be considered: Tax restructuring, including Proposition 13. School financing, including Proposition 98 guarantees. The two-thirds vote requirement for budget passage. (Why not at least return to how it was before 1962 when a budget that didn't increase spending by more than 5% could be passed on a majority vote?)"This going to be way worse than Pete Wilson's aborted "Constitutional Revision Commission" for CA's state constitution!!!
I get so sick and tired of these putrid pissants piddlin with all their liberalized foundations, trusts and sanctimoniusly sanctified devious schemes to further ruin everything while pretending to actually "fix" something!!!
None of the morons involved in this, including Minetta (especially Minutta) have any touch with the real world in CA, especially how local governments either affect this, or are affected by it!!!

Thats news to me. Its now a one-party state with far-leftists rampaging from San Francisco to Sacramento Is there any truth to the rumor that the section of I-80 that runs from San Francisco to Sacramento is going to be named the "Che Guevara Freeway"?
