in exchange for amnesty under the District's gun ban.Would that be the same gun ban that will, most likely, be declared unconstitutional sometime in June?

Officers will go door to door asking residents for permission to search their homes. What happens if you refuse permission?

Officers will go door to door asking residents for permission to search their homes. I'd be tempted to say to the cops, "Sure, you can search my house, if I can search the mayor's and the chief of police's houses and YOUR houses."
The only possible reason they would refuse is because they had something to hide.

Would that be the same gun ban that will, most likely, be declared unconstitutional sometime in June? Yep and the Nanny City Government seems to believe that it will be struck down.
They are trying to confiscate as many guns as they can before the law is nullified and the people learn that they have the right to own operable firearms.

"Officers will go door to door asking residents for permission to search their homes." I'm sure if your decline their "generous" offer, you'll soon find yourself being followed by a police car every time you leave your home and being pulled over for the slightest driving infraction...

The residents most likely have any idea what is going on in the Supreme Court about the gun issue.

Just what is motivating the young, ambitious (read Obama-clone) DC Mayor Adrian Fenty to go to the mat for gun control like this?
Are we perhaps seeing the true influence of the Soros-network in influencing rising Dem pols by discreetly telling them that future support will be contingent on their obedience to their orders?
That’s really the only thing that makes sense here. Recall the DCPD’s recent, pointed refusal to protect a local recruiting station from “peace protesters” just a few days ago.

DC doesn’t have enough running police cars to do much of that.

Yes, I believe refusal to allow this “voluntary search” will have consequences for the resident. Hell, with the state of the understanding of the Constitution these days, they’re likely to consider that refusal to be “probable cause” to go get a warrant. And, indeed, give us the results of the searches of various city officials’ homes as well.

Recall the DCPD's recent, pointed refusal to protect a local recruiting station from "peace protesters" just a few days ago.Why would they divert important police resources for this as long as there are no religious themed monuments on public property threatening the "wall of separation?"

Oh my, that would not fly here in the Lone Star State (not yet anyway) but our STATE Constitution has the PERSONAL RIGHT Clearly spelled out to have a firearm. I can't wait for SCOTUS to rule.

My response to that type of question has always been: “Since I DON’T have anything to hide, you DON’T have anything to look for here.”
