Will Rush Limbaugh Be Indicted for Voter Fraud?

As Ohio election officials investigate illegal crossover voting in the 2008 primary, questions arise on Rush Limbaugh's role.

Limbaugh, the nation's top-rated talk radio host, was urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to skip their party's primary on March 4 and instead cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in order to prolong the fight between her and Barack Obama.

What Limbaugh encouraged Republican voters to do in Ohio was a fifth-degree felony in that state, punishable with a $2,500 fine and six to 12 months in jail.

On Thursday, March 20, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the "Cuyahoga County Board of Election has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary."

In 2008, 2.22 million Ohioans voted in the Democratic primary, compared to 1.27 million in 2000, according to unofficial results released by Brunner's office. In contrast, 1.01 million Ohioans voted in the 2008 Republican primary, compared to nearly 918,000 people in 2004.

Michael Slater of Project Vote, a nonpartisan group that designs voter registration drives for low-income people, said GOP meddling in the Ohio Democratic Primary was a clear-cut example of fraudulent voting, which is how Republicans have defined the issue in recent years, as GOP advocates have urged state legislatures and Congress to adopt anti-fraud measures such as tougher voter ID laws.

"Here we have a real instance of spurring people on to engage in illegal election activities with a real intent to affect the outcome," Slater said. "That is voter fraud. People were encouraged to break the law. They had to declare allegiance to a political party and sign a document under penalty of perjury. Intent is what matters in voter fraud."

BINGO! The beast will roast McCain for breakfast. Rush Bimbo knows this. I personally believe he wants to punish McCain at all costs because his guy Romney didn't cut the mustard.

He's willing to destroy the country via Hillary! in order to do so.

Obama can't win. The beast will. She needs to be stopped now!

This article is ridiculous. No prosecutor in their right mind would take on such a case.

A partisan Dem in the mode of Eliot Spitzer or Ronnie Earl would love to convene a grand jury, even if just for the publicity.

Rush, of all people, ought to know how foolish it is to tempt fate with an out of control partisan prosecutor. He's probably still paying off Roy Black over what happened to his medical records.

And how great would it be for “for his business” if the next president were to sign the Fairness Doctrine? Why would he commit financial suicide? Sorry, but I’m sticking with Limbaugh on this one. He’s smarter than you’re giving him credit for.

Rush is a selfish individual, not a conservative or a patriot he portrays himself.

Correction. Rush is a self-interested individual. Capitalism and democracy depend on self interest to function.

ROFL this is rich!!

Thanks. I got a few responses from that simple comment I made and I only said what fit. If people think Rush wants Hillary to win then they must be insane, completely out of it, drunk, or on drugs. Could be all four.

How is he not informed? Have you come up with a scenario in which Obama would be tougher to beat? Have you seen the general election polls?

Like it or not the filthy beast is the most dangerous candidate that our country has ever faced. If elected our nation is finished.

When you have an opportunity to stop that evil, you do it. You don't help her beat a much weaker opponent in the primary.

After the legal colonscopy he got in Florida on his medical records you would think he’d be more careful.

Rush's move was in response to all the Dems crossing over to vote for McCain in the Republican primaries. I don't really think either party wants a prosecution coming out of these shenanigans.

If this results in the parties amending their procedures so only Democrats vote in Democrat primaries and only Republicans vote in Republican primaries, then I'll be immensely pleased. Rush is once again using absurdity to illustrate the absurd.

If you stop and think about it for a minute you should come to the realization that rush has very little impact on the democratic primaries. Sure rush likes to make alot of noise. That’s his job. He promotes himself. That’s how he makes money. But republicans really are not helping hillary that much. It’s just not possible.

Hells Bells, dude. Even Rush admits that the Toons have been good for business. But to say he isn’t a conservative; wrong.
