Will Rush Limbaugh Be Indicted for Voter Fraud?

As Ohio election officials investigate illegal crossover voting in the 2008 primary, questions arise on Rush Limbaugh's role.

Limbaugh, the nation's top-rated talk radio host, was urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to skip their party's primary on March 4 and instead cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in order to prolong the fight between her and Barack Obama.

What Limbaugh encouraged Republican voters to do in Ohio was a fifth-degree felony in that state, punishable with a $2,500 fine and six to 12 months in jail.

On Thursday, March 20, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the "Cuyahoga County Board of Election has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary."

In 2008, 2.22 million Ohioans voted in the Democratic primary, compared to 1.27 million in 2000, according to unofficial results released by Brunner's office. In contrast, 1.01 million Ohioans voted in the 2008 Republican primary, compared to nearly 918,000 people in 2004.

Michael Slater of Project Vote, a nonpartisan group that designs voter registration drives for low-income people, said GOP meddling in the Ohio Democratic Primary was a clear-cut example of fraudulent voting, which is how Republicans have defined the issue in recent years, as GOP advocates have urged state legislatures and Congress to adopt anti-fraud measures such as tougher voter ID laws.

"Here we have a real instance of spurring people on to engage in illegal election activities with a real intent to affect the outcome," Slater said. "That is voter fraud. People were encouraged to break the law. They had to declare allegiance to a political party and sign a document under penalty of perjury. Intent is what matters in voter fraud."

Ding. Further, the ones that pulled it off are likely capable of telling the reporter a few things that won’t make it on air too.

I don’t know how you would even do this. Your voter registration lists your party affiliation. When they look up your name they see your affiliation and give you a corresponding voting form

This sounds like more desperate, despicable liberal tricks and wishful thinking

And we all know that Micheal Slater will tell you with a straight face that Dhimmocrat meddling in GOP primaries has never happened & will never happen. And read "low-income people" as poor people bribed to vote Dhimmocrat/Socialist.

They want to charge Rush but they let ACORN walk away from all the voter fraud they were involved in. Hypocrites!

I thought this (cross-over in a primary) was in the Dem playbook for years. Now that others are using it to disrupt their party, now it's no good? Since when do you have to swear party loyalty in blood?

How moronic would an article have to be before you’d recognise it as such?

ROFL this is rich!! Any voter who selected a ballot after changing parties, did nothing illegal. Contrary to what the Dems ALWAYS do which is to vote via dead people, animals, etc.

Rush is going to LOVE this!

These libs will look for any way they can to shut down El Rushbo. Can’t have people disagreeing with them in public, you know. That might violate their freedom of speech. (Don’t laugh. I’ve actually had liberals argue this when I’ve criticized them.)

As long as THEY let people vote as they did THEY commited a felony, if any.

You're right. Every poll worker is required to attend a 2-3 hour training session before each election, regardless of how many times they have worked the polls. Handling cross-over votes is a part of every training for primary elections. If a person wants to cross over, there is nothing that keeps him from doing so.

Limbaugh's continued efforts to prop up Clinton make it look like he is really in her corner

But if that's the case, tehn they can't charge him with fraud.

Catch-22.

Klintoons are good for Limbo’s business. Nothing more needs to be said!

Absolutely!

I've said it many times on this forum.

Rush is a selfish individual, not a conservative or a patriot he portrays himself.

If this really is a felony, as the article states, and there really is an investigation, there is more than enough evidence to convict Limbaugh by doing a search on this forum alone. Will have to keep an eye on this.

If you can crossover and vote in another party’s intra party elections, something is wrong with the system, as I’ve been saying for years. Why is the taxpayer funding these intra party elections? Why doesn’t either party require anything more than a meaningless declaration for membership? In multi-party political systems, only party members, who typically pay some membership fees, are allowed to vote in such elections. Most citizens don’t belong to parties and don’t have to declare their party membership or sympathies for all the neighbourhood hooligans to see, a meaningless gesture, if you axe me!
