As Ohio election officials investigate illegal crossover voting in the 2008 primary, questions arise on Rush Limbaugh's role.
Limbaugh, the nation's top-rated talk radio host, was urging Republicans in Texas and Ohio to skip their party's primary on March 4 and instead cast a vote for Hillary Clinton in order to prolong the fight between her and Barack Obama.
What Limbaugh encouraged Republican voters to do in Ohio was a fifth-degree felony in that state, punishable with a $2,500 fine and six to 12 months in jail.
On Thursday, March 20, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported that the "Cuyahoga County Board of Election has launched an investigation that could lead to criminal charges against voters who maliciously switched parties for the March 4 presidential primary."
In 2008, 2.22 million Ohioans voted in the Democratic primary, compared to 1.27 million in 2000, according to unofficial results released by Brunner's office. In contrast, 1.01 million Ohioans voted in the 2008 Republican primary, compared to nearly 918,000 people in 2004.
Michael Slater of Project Vote, a nonpartisan group that designs voter registration drives for low-income people, said GOP meddling in the Ohio Democratic Primary was a clear-cut example of fraudulent voting, which is how Republicans have defined the issue in recent years, as GOP advocates have urged state legislatures and Congress to adopt anti-fraud measures such as tougher voter ID laws.
"Here we have a real instance of spurring people on to engage in illegal election activities with a real intent to affect the outcome," Slater said. "That is voter fraud. People were encouraged to break the law. They had to declare allegiance to a political party and sign a document under penalty of perjury. Intent is what matters in voter fraud."
So who was the traitor that decided to help Russia against Germany in WWII?
“Will Rush Limbaugh Be Indicted for Voter Fraud?”
Wishful thinking.
Dang - missed by seven, lol.
I wonder sometimes if people like you even listen to or should I say understand his show.
Did I accidenly stumble on KOS?
Can you type a coherent sentence so perhaps we “Rush Lovers” could attempt to understand your prattle?
I believe that is the law in some states here in USA too.
Toots? From “Drawn Togther”?
#15 wasn’t a bad synopsis from just decoding the words was it?
I don’t believe it. That is one of the tenents of the Rush haters here.
Cape Giradeau MO is like Vermont where the percentage of blacks is something in the range of .003 percent. :). I don’t need those guys pontificating to me from either extreme with such a freaking sheltered experience of living. I sure most of those guys don’t feel real comfortable having to dance around that landfield everyday for a living. Rush needs to retire if Hillary is elected. If he retires and goes away forever then it’s cool. If McCain wins, tie me to the stock and commence the whippings. I’ll cry tears of joy.
The hoopla now is all about ignoring the Deomcrats tampering with the GOP primary process, but howling about legalities now. Limbaugh says that every day, but the MSM only crows about "Operation Chaos;" then never mention all that happened before it.
Rick Santorum also supported Specter over Toomey, and was tossed out at the next election. I'm only saying that Specter is the poster child for asking people to cross over and mess with the other side's primary process. What Limbaugh is doing now is nothing new, it's just being done by someone with a microphone.

But has anyone called you an idiot lately?
Rush doesn’t need defending, so I won’t bother.
It's sort of like a hate crime. It depends on your motivation.
That's just ridiculous.
I believe that is an actual law...in Cuba
It's the law in New York and has been for years. And while I admit that NY is only slightly to the right of Cuba, I would bet it's the law in other states as well.
Rush who?
Pontificating? YOU ARE WHINING ABOUT SOMEONE ELSE PONTIFICATING? Please.
Uh-oh...
Oh, and maybe you can go back and read my posts imploring Limbaugh to endorse a conservative during the early primaries when he refused to do so. All the politicians, celebrities, and most pundits were backing a candidate -- was it not their place to suggest to others how to vote?

“Find a voter who will state that they crossed party lines based solely on what Rush said.”
They could probably find a bunch of Democrat voters who will ‘say’ they were Republicans who were convinced by ‘that Rush something guy’ to cross over and vote in the Democratic Primary.
