Primary turnout and recent surveys show conservative "values" voters have abandoned the Republican Party.

Correction: The Republican party abandoned us!

Johnny Airbus/Open Borders McClain wasn't my first, second, third, fourth, nor even LAST choice, for a candidate.

“The Establishment liberal RINOs like McCain and the people around him don’t seem to realize that the Republican party is dead without teh support of principled conservatives and that increasing numbers of conservatves are walking away. ... The Republican Party has a virtually infinite capacity for learning the wrong lesson.”

This ‘virtually infinite capacity’ of the GOP is only surpassed by the virtually infinite capacity of ‘principled conservatives’ to delude themselves into believing that voting third party is the ‘right lesson’. One can only believe that ‘principled conservatives’ enjoy puting the socialist democrats in power.

The Barna Group has a website where you can discover all sorts of confusing things about numerous topics.

I'm not confident in their ability to poll the public.

” Everyone begged him to close the border and to stop sending jobs overseas. He could care less what happened to the American Worker”

What’s the unemployment rate? 4.8% Right, sounds terrible.

The Establishment liberal RINOs like McCain and the people around him don't seem to realize that the Republican party is dead without teh support of principled conservatives...

Don't realize it yet?!! They engineered it!

The GOP is trying to make it without conservatives. No one in the RINO wing, despite the rhetoric of the MSM, is really trying to make amends to conservatives. McCain thinks he actually has a better shot at winning without being burdened by the conservative rabble. If McCain wins using this strategy, conservatives will have to regroup or remain irrelevant.

The GOP is dead for 2 reasons.

One, they don’t care what Joe Conservative thinks anymore. They know what he thinks... they just don’t care. The reason they don’t care is because most Republicans in Washington DC are owned, lock, stock and barrel, by special interest groups, be they corporate of ethnic. Your opinion is totally worthless to them.

Second, the GOP has terrible leadership. This is a leadership that will not defend itself or its principles... EVER. Bush is exhibit A. TOTALLY WEAK AND INCOMPETENT.

At this point I am on the verge of saying “OK, America, you want Socialism? Here, we’ll give it to you. In fact, we’re going to cram it down your throats until you’re a penniless tick feeding off the government corpse.” Only then will we be able to right this ship because it will only be then that people will be willing to pick up their arms and take their country back.

The Constitution Party will choose a presidential candidate at its April 23-26th Nominating Convention in Kansas City, Mo.

ROTFLMAO!!! Ralph Nader or Ron Paul would mop the floor with the Constitution Party presidential candidate. Get real you can vote for McCain or Hillary or Obama anything else is a waste of your time. So what is it going to be a Democrat Liberal swine or a RHINO who wants to keep the Bush tax cuts. appoint conservative Supreme Court Justices, and continue to prosecute the war on terrorism?

“I know he sucks, but...”

Now that is a great bumper sticker ... it would also be a great lawn sign ... and a great sign for the convention ... hundreds of them bouncing up and down and being waved all over the floor!

If I knew, I’d put down a whole bunch of money on the outcome and get rich.

I’ll be willing to speculate though... we may be looking at another 1856.

Values voters are suddenly going to embrace two of the most staunch pro-choice candidates in the country?

Like Republicans Giuliani and Romney? And what of McCain who is for fetal stem cell research?

They’re going to endorse a candidate who’s minister has helped out Hamas?

So they should support Bush's heir? Bush who stands against Israel and for the Palestinian state?

They’re going to vote for Hillary Clinton, who’s arguably the most dishonest politician in decades?

Instead they are to support the traitorous bastard (and his party) that took away their first amendment right to have a voice in the election?

They’re going to endorse a party that believes man descended from plankton?

So they should continue to support the Republicans who have had the ability to put Creationism back in the schools for nearly thirty years, and didn't do it?

It’s funny how the Left spends every election year courting the evangelicals, and the other years they trash them.

Funny how the Republicans do exactly the same thing.

Six of one, half dozen of the other.

And what of McCain who is for fetal stem cell research?

Yeah, research is bad, it'll kill us all.

Bush who stands against Israel and for the Palestinian state

Yeah, he does that every day according to DU. Twice on Fridays.

So they should continue to support the Republicans who have had the ability to put Creationism back in the schools for nearly thirty years, and didn't do it?

One can only believe that ‘principled conservatives’ enjoy puting the socialist democrats in power.

This isn't rocket science, you know. If you want Conservative support, you get it with Conservative candidates. I fail to see why anyone is surprised at the Conservatives' reaction. It has been predictable for years. So your statement might better read:

One can only believe that ‘principled conservatives’ Republicans enjoy putting the socialist democrats in power.

1. Giuliani and Romney aren’t the GOP nominee.

2. Right. Bush stands against Israel. That’s why liberal Jews like Ed Koch voted for him. And Joe Lieberman - is he endorsing an Israel-hater too?

3. You don’t have a voice in the election? Is someone shutting down Free Republic? FWIW, I don’t agree with CFR either, but groups are finding ways around it, just as they did in 2004.

3a. John McCain fought for his county, and gave up five years of his freedom for it. He’s not a traitor.

4. Uh, the teaching of evolution is left up to the states and the judiciary. Perhaps those evangelist-voters think judges like Bader-Ginsberg will give them what they want. Hope they’re prepared to wait until hell freezes over.

5. The GOP trashes evangelicals? Who? The fringe kook ones, yes.

"I am sure there are many moderates and independents out there to fill the void for the people that the GOP no longer need."

Probably plenty of illegals waiting in line to donate to the GOP in place of conservatives. At least, the GOP had better hope there is.

The Establishment liberal RINOs like McCain and the people around him don't seem to realize that the Republican party is dead without teh support of principled conservatives and that increasing numbers of conservatves are walking away. They will learn that, to their regret, unless they take some dramatic action.

Keep in mind that the RINOs were quite content to be the minority party all those years. They had their safe districts and weren't bothered by their RAT overmasters nor by primary challenges. It was only when those nasty and impudent conservatives came along that things were changed for the worse. This is absolutely what they've wanted since noon on January 20, 1981 when Ronald Reagan took office.
