The war of words is heating up between Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
Clinton campaign officials are demanding a retraction from retired General Merrill McPeak, who supports Obama.
The back and forth stems from a speech former President Bill Clinton made Friday, when he said he'd like to see an election, "where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country."
Speaking in Oregon yesterday, McPeak accused Clinton of questioning Obama's patriotism and said he was "astonished" by the remarks.
"We will have such an election this year because both Barack Obama and John McCain are great patriots who love this country and are devoted to it, so is Hillary Clinton, any suggestion to the contrary is flat wrong," said McPeak.
A Clinton spokesman calls McPeak's comments absurd and accused McPeak of deliberately misreading the former president's remarks.

He thinks his legacy is still being created. He'll do anything to be the “First Gentleman” and to get back in the White House.
The Clintons are the power mongers our (founding) fathers warned us about.
He's counting on all that sliding down the memory hole if they can just unseat Obama's candidacy and win the nomination. He's probably right.
Bill Clinton would strip naked and run across the rally stage if he thought it would help him and the Mrs. get back into the WH. Heck, he'd probably do it anyway.
No different than our Sinator Gordon Smith R, who is against the war. Probably a senior advisor to the Oregon GOP.

Blow and Clinton in the same sentence will always raise an eybrow...:)
However, the mass fellation of Obama by the MSM now overshadows all other fellations, and in fact, I would call it the the most fellatious fellation in all fellationdom.
Clinton, Obama Campaigns Exchange Verbal Blows ...
clinton and blows....whoops..thought they were addressing bj and monica!!!!
And just think, they are both in agreement with a-Q on what to do in Iraq!
No thinking person can be a democrat.
If McCain picks a black running mate (J.C. Watts would be my choice), might hold the riots down to a minimum.

Morning and night, on my knees.
You sure got that right. The MSM does a lot of kissing up to Obammy. I guess the Right Reverend Wright is nothing but a dream now.
