Saddam Hussein's intelligence service collected information on dozens of sites in Israel, including airports, other transportation centers, as well as scientific and religious centers that were thought to be potential targets for attacks. Among the sources providing intelligence to Saddam's regime was Force 17, the security force of Yasser Arafat, which planned and carried out from its Ramallah headquarters attacks against Israeli targets.

A video recording of a meeting between Saddam and Yasser Arafat on April 19, 1990, showed Saddam threatening to assassinate then president George Bush. "We may not be able to reach Washington, but we could send someone with an explosives belt to Washington," Saddam told Arafat, three months before the invasion of Kuwait.
"We can send people to Washington. A man with an explosives belt could throw himself on Bush's car."

Saddam used to like to think of himself as a latter day reincarnation of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar, and now while he is burning in Hell, Saddam is wishing that he been allowed to live even if it meant grazing like a cow in the fields, as happened to Nebuchadnezzar.
Hope Saddam and Arafatrat are having a swell time. If they could, they would be sending cards up to Hamas, Hezbullocks and Ahmadinnerjacket saying “wish you were here, you will be soon!”

Sounds like the meeting between Saddam and April Glaspie: “We cannot come all the way to you in the United States, but individual Arabs may reach you.” (July 25,1990)

Why is saddam "Hussein"'s last name not in title?
I know why. And you know why.

Do you have any idea how many people threaten the President on a daily basis? By the way from what we were told about Saddam and his intentions, to what he actually possessed as an arsenal and military is substantially different. The man was probably the weakest leader in the Middle East at the time of the invasion.

Incomprehensible why the GOP doesn't just say Saddam was a terrorist harboring and funding terrorists and that is why he was taken out.
WMD are besides the point.
