Actor Sean Astin and former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend will join former President Bill Clinton and his daughter Chelsea on their campaign swing through Indiana on Monday.

Townsend, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and a former Maryland lieutenant governor, will appear with the Clintons at Dyngus Day and Solidarity Day events in South Bend.

Townsend lost the gubernatorial election in Maryland five years ago.

I read Sean Astin’s autobiography and he admits to being a socialist.

I am kinda surprised to hear this. He is one of the biggest family values people next to Rick Schroeder. They both have long term marriages (first) with at least three children. They put must republicans and conservatives to shame with regards to number of marriages.

Oh how awful... Sam-not-so-wise turns out to be a Hillary Klintoon Kool-Aid drinker! Ugh, breaks my heart... loved him in Lord of the Rings. :-(

I am proud of him. If he has to support a democrat might as well be her than that fake racist creep that is her opponent. Obviously I would want him to support McCain, but even I can’t get to excited over that...lol.

Dyngus Day:

The tradition of Wet Monday evolved in to a great way to find a romantic partner as the tradition had young boys throwing water on young girls that they were attracted to get their attention.

I'm sure Bill should be all over that.

Perhaps I overreacted. I've known Dan Quayle for several years, from before he was elected the first time. Nice enough guy, but I agree with much of the assessment of his efforts as VP.

I now live in Evan Bayh's hometown and know him, having met him while he was running for Governor.

Want to see the future of the Republican party?

My mother’s family is Polish. Never had sisters, so the water and twigs weren’t a part of our celebration. We did eat a lot of very good food.

I checked out his website, and I liked what I read. I’m down here in Georgia, but I wish you the best of luck with your candidate.

Members of the Kennedy clan are split in the race. Former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend issued a statement Sunday stating her support for Clinton.
...
She added that her brother Bobby and sister Kerry are also backing Clinton.

First I've heard of this!

Too bad Sean Astin can’t fight against evil like his character did in that movie. Gollum called Sam “the stupid, fat hobbit.” Looks like he wasn’t far off the mark to what he is in real life.

Hillary is Gollum.

No, no, no...

Hillary is Shelob. Carville is Gollum.

I loved the Rings trilogy—too bad not just Astin but most of the cast and crew are lefties. Viggo Mortensen is the worst, he even joined Sheehan in Crawford Texas at “Camp Casey”. I try to forget that when I watch the films, but it kind of ruins it for me.

..but remember with the parents he has, he was almost a lost cause from the beginning.

Let me clarify the socialist statement, he claims "almost" to being a socialist. But he's supporting Hiltery so it puts all the guess work out of this.

I read Sean Astin’s autobiography and he admits to being a socialist.

Nowadays I'm surprised when an entertainment type isn't a socialist. My theory is that most of them realize what a shallow and intrinsically worthless industry they serve, and inwardly feel empty and insecure. They realize there is nothing significant separating them from the "aspiring actor" serving their morning coffee at Starbucks, and that with a slight turn of fate they could never have escaped that life-- or worse, could end up back there again. So even though they are rolling in enough money to provide nicely for a hundred families if properly invested, their worldview is more in line with what you'd expect from a truck-stop waitress.

That, and also the fact that most of them are really stupid people who didn't bother to get much of an education.

I remember something like that from Spring Break back in my college days. Romantic partners, indeed.
