"The alleged gang member accused of killing Los Angeles high school football star Jamiel Shaw is in the country illegally and had been released from jail without anyone questioning his citizenship the day before Shaw's shooting, according to a report by MyFOXLA.com."
"Meanwhile, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on Saturday afternoon was scheduled to join with Shaw's family to dedicate a memorial honoring the 17-year-old at the spot where he was killed."
Police say Pedro Espinoza, the 19-year-old suspect arrested in Shaw's death, has been in a street gang since he was 12. Until this month, he had been in jail on charges of exhibiting a firearm and obstructing an officer, MyFOXLA.com reports.
Immigration officials told the TV station that Espinoza is an illegal immigrant, but no red flags were raised when he was released from jail March 1.

Supportes of open borders would have us think that things like this don’t matter. We know better.
Hey, they’re just murdering the high school students that home-grown American scum bags won’t murder.
Somebody had to say it, right?
Yeah I am sure the family will feel great standing next to illegal advocate mayor villegerosa
And the moron liberals will call for more “gun control” when they should instead be calling for an end to illegal immigration.
Arrest the gun.
Thanks your Jorge for not having homeland security deport illegals, it has gone a long way in helping the republican party. "Sac Off"
The murderer(and another man, if I recall the story) asked Jamiel if he was in some gang. He said no and they shot him anyway.
Fits right in with the ethnic cleansing/race-based murders of blacks by Hispanics.
But where is Obama or any of those who want to remind us of racism when it comes to outright MURDER of blacks simply for the color of their skin?
Another illegal murdering an American citizen. Illegals raping and murdering and otherwise killing Americans has reached epidemic proportions. And still, our leaders do nothing. They are so terrified of pissing off the hispanics that, rather than risk offending them, they will allow Americans to be systematically slaughtered by illegals.
Another death tied to the Gringo Nasty McPain.NO to Grumpy in Nov.
the African-American libs don't know which way to go.... with the evil Republicans or with the Democrats that are aborting them by the millions and killing them in da' hood.
hahahahahahaha... foolish people
I am certain "Tony" is a staunch supporter of illegal aliens right to be here. (P.O.S. hypocrite!)
Before the killing, Espinoza had been in jail since Nov. 18, according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore. While incarcerated, he was sentenced Jan. 22 to 180 days in jail with credit for time served, records show.
Bratton said that Espinoza’s sole motivation was his membership in the 18th Street gang, and that his fatal actions were designed to further the gang’s activities.

But some deportable inmates escape detection by lying to ICE investigators or local law enforcement officials about their place of birth, she said.
“There could be any number of reasons why an individual was not a subject of an ICE detainer in the past,” she said. “It’s possible that someone coming into the jail system may have made a false claim about their birthplace.”
I GUESS NO ONE CARES ENOUGH TO CHECK OUT THE TRUTH?! They just take the word of the criminal?!!!
His mother was fighting in Iraq, while the ILLEGAL was in a GANG, since he was 12, trying to kill innocent people for fun!

Immigration officials told the TV station that Espinoza is an illegal immigrant, but no red flags were raised when he was released from jail March 1.
"The system is not 100 percent (Obviously, it's not even 50%!)," Lori Haley, a spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told the station.
Pedro Espinoza was simply killing football stars Americans were not willing to kill.
He's got some serious cajones even showing his face to Shaw's family with the kind of border policies he favors.
