A Seattle-King County health official says it's unknown if they picked up the infection in jail or already had it when they were booked.
The official, Dr. Jeffrey Duchin, says the 65 were among 20,702 inmates released from the jail in that period.
A Justice Department report in November criticized the jail for failing to do enough cleaning to prevent the spread of the drug-resistant bacteria.

My step-mother when 83yrs old broke her hip. She was put in a nursing home in August 2003 and contracted MRSA. She passed away Christmas Eve. They say Hospitals and Nursing homes are among the top places to contact this.

Crowding, contact, compromised skin, contamination, and cleanliness (lack of).
There are two kinds of MRSA, hospital-acquired and community-acquired. I am guessing this might be the latter?
Hmmmm.....I have a friend whose son is there (LONG story)...he gets out in about 2 weeks. He’s had some sort of infection.....I’m thinking he had that....but was young enough to fight it, albeit with drugs they gave him.
