At one time, the governorship of NY was the royal road to the White House. No more. Liberals now dominate in NY and their moral standards are now accepted with a wink and a nod.
Gail Collins's wink and a nod tells more about politics in NY than any definitive study. As a card carrying leftist Collins thinks it is all too funny to really get upset about.

If Paterson were a republican he too would be toast by now.

...It took approximately five minutes for reporters to figure out that one of Patersons ex-girlfriends was a $150,000 employee in the governors office of yes! intergovernmental affairs. So, really, Spitzer's deal was a bargain in comparison.
And this guy's gonna balance the budget?

"Lucky for Paterson, most of the state still feels that he is way better than what were likely to wind up with if we go rummaging through the line of succession looking for someone who never committed adultery."UNFORTUNATELY, he's also guilty of numerous campaign finance violations.

No, lucky for Paterson that (1) the voters here in the People's Republic of New York are dopes to start with, and (2) media like the NY Slimes and pollsters like the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute are protecting him.

I think that this is just the tip of the iceberg. Reporters will be all over him. They will find so much that he will have to go, even in liberal New York.

this is about moving infidelity as acceptable to the political class as long as they “look good”
It is ok of bill and hillary have their respective girlfriends as long as they look good together and support abortion, gun control, and surrender military politics

Paterson will be finished in a month. There is NO way he did NOT violate laws forbiding Offical Misconduct. He was obviously more concerned about the WHERE AND WHEN, then whether it was legal. Please ratmedia don’t try to tell me otherwise.
