the 'experience' that his gramma had, according to what he wrote in his first book, was being accosted at a bus stop by a panhandler asking for a dollar.
She gave him a dollar but instead of going away, he continued badgering her for more money, getting more agressive by the minute...the bus came and she was able to get out of the situation.
When she got home, she was visably upset and upon questioning, she related the story. Upon further questioning to describe the panhandler, she said he was black.
How racist of her!
For Obama to now skip these details as he labels her a 'Typical White Person" is a total misrepresentation of facts.
And even absent all this - what about what Jesse Jackson said back in the 90's?

Thanks for the extra information, especially since Obama failed to expound on his grandmother’s actual experience. He seems to only include certain tidbits of events to point out the racism in whites, then complains when he perceives the media is doing the same thing to him or his mentor, Rev. Wright. This guy is scary, in that he doesn’t even realize when he’s contradicting himself, or can’t see his own inconsistencies.
She's still alive, but we'll never see or hear from her. She's obviously an embarrassment to him. Can't let the constituency see that he has any white relatives out there.
Like no black woman or man has ever been concerned about the possibility of being a victim when walking down the street, or in a dark parking lot at night.
If you poll Hispanics whether they consider themselves white or persons of color the majority of Hispanics self identify with white. In a few decades blacks will be an even smaller minority. Notice that even Democrat Hispanics mostly support the white woman over the black man.
Since he likes to steal exact statements from Deval Patrick and use them as his own, maybe Patrick helped write his papers for him. Afterall, they're both from Chicago, and both went to Harvard Law School.
Notice how we've never heard anything about his grades or school averages in school? Yet, the press continually brought up Dubya's grades, even trying to make Gore and Kerry appear brighter, even though both had lower grades in school than Bush.

What the Osama/Reverend Wright flap has revealed is the 900 pound gorilla in the room that the media and the politically correct have been refusing to see or hear and that is black racism. It does exist and is expressed openly by blacks and it is just as evil as any other form of racism. Only the controllers of our society have decided for the nation as a whole to tolerate it until now that it has become intolerable. Do not forget that Sharpton has promised riots if Osama does not get the nomination.
That is the implications, that black people don’t fear others when walking down the street.

I don't see color or ethnic background when I meet people. That's never been an issue with me. Thus, I never viewed Obama as being of any color. It wasn't the color of his skin that turned me off, it was his political beliefs. When he started making excuses for Rev. Wright's comments, telling us we needed to understand Wright's animosity stemmed from the inequities of the past, and that those same inequitities that stirred the good Reverend on, really weren't all in the past, I began to see him in a different light. He was the one who decided to delineate himself as being black and being different. When he stepped away from just being an American, to being a black man, and lecturing us on race, how white behavior towards blacks is predictable, and how racism is still rampant in this country and needs to be addressed, he proved to me that he's the one who has the racial problem, not me.

This is a big sarcasm alert here folks. I’m just funning.
Why would anyone in that situation feel relief at seeing a white person? I wouldn’t. Criminals come in all colors and both genders and situational awareness and preparedness is what can make a difference in keeping yourself safe- not a fear of any race, color, or even gender. I wouldn’t feel relief at seeing anyone if I felt that fear, unless I knew the person or was confident I could handle whatever that person could deliver.
