Milwaukee newspaper promotes homo-sex play on Good Friday
WorldNetDaily ^ | March 21, 2008

A host for a Milwaukee-based radio talk show, Crosstalk America, says she will be leading a protest against the city's local newspaper, the Journal Sentinel for publishing on Good Friday an advertisement for an explicit sex show being highlighted as part of "The Res-erection" tour.

The advertisement is for "Puppetry of the P----," which is to appear next month at the city's Miramar theater. The ad features two men, partly in silhouette, who appear to be nude, and whose privates are covered by "The Res-erection Tour!" slogan.

"As a long time reader of the Journal Sentinel and a national Christian talk show host, I am going to call for subscribers to reconsider their subscriptions in light of this decision," Ingrid Schlueter, of Crosstalk Radio Talk Show, told WND.

"It is apparently no longer safe to even open the local paper at home. The moral squalor in our culture worsens because few are prepared to take a public stand and risk abuse for doing so. We're going to take a stand," she said.

She described the ad as "homo-erotic" and condemned its apparent "mocking of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ," especially on such a day as Good Friday.

"It's clearly not what you would expect for a big city newspaper," she told WND. "You'd expect this in a seedy, fringe newspaper found in a coffee shop."

She said she had tried to contact the newspaper to express her concern, but had not heard back yet. WND did get a response after leaving a message for publisher Elizabeth Brenner.

Probably best to ignore such ignorance instead of give it publicity.

This is truly very sad! But could you imagine the outrage never mind the beheadings if it was a play on Ramadan Muslim Holiday. (I don’t have to spell it out do I?) I would find that equally as offensive!!!

It’s not without good reason that we call that local rag ‘The Milwaukee Urinal-Sentinel.’

It never fails that Satan is hard at work around the time of his greatest defeat. It happens every year around Easter. It’s as predictable as the sun rising.

She's right. It's also so pervasive that much of it is not only ignored, it is unnoticed.

Agree — the filthy scroats who are putting on this show are *hoping* to offend people.

IIRC they “played” in Auckland a few years ago, at Sky City. ‘Twas a yawn by all accounts.

The Urinal Sentinel has done this kind of stuff before. A few years back, the front page story for Easter Sunday was about priests abusing kids. Classy, as always.

My first thought was that the libs wouldn’t want to offend Islam, whereas it’s open season on Christianity.

I checked out “An Inconvenient Book” by Glenn Beck at the library the other day. Beck is plain-spoken and of course spot on with his commentary on the goals and operations of radical Islamonazis.

Agreed. Other than a few perverts and atheists who want to appear artsy, who would waste their money on such filth?

As for the newspaper, I would cancel my subscription. When they call to ask why, I would tell them that I don’t allow pornography in my house.

The only newspaper we subscribe to is the Budget, from Sugarcreek, Ohio.

The protesters need to go after the ADVERTISERS of the paper.

The need to select a car dealer or a regular appliance retailer for boycott untill they pull their ads from the paper.

Newspaper need ads.

Car dealers and real estate are their remaining core.

Protesting the paper itself is pointless.

oh yes it is. Big city newspapers are all in the tank for the left and hate Christianity.

Do you think even one church service this Sunday will call for its members to cancel their subscription on Monday morning?

I’ll wager no one does.

If they don’t fight back they’ll just get more of the same.

Our “beloved” Oregonian had an article on Good Friday about two “art” exhibits mocking Jesus.

I sent them a polite letter a couple of years ago when they published an article in the entertainment section about sex workers and cancelled my subscription. I occasionally browse the paper at work and I’m always irritated at the content. At least they’re consistent.

This is as predictable as the tide, but never will the words Hate Crime be used. But I always wondered. Is there a sign at the Puppetry of the Penis that says Employees Must WQash Hands Before Returning to Work.?
