In the turbulent 1960s, a civil rights movement arose that resulted in the creation of a U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Soon, there were state commissions on civil rights around the country. Then came the U.S. Commission on the Status of Women. Soon, there followed state Commissions on the Status of Women. Perhaps it is time for a Commission on the Status of Freedom.
America grew into a powerful, prosperous nation because its Constitution guaranteed to every citizen the freedom endowed by the Creator. While it took a century to extend those freedoms to black Americans, and to women, the principle of individual freedom for all citizens is the foundation of our Declaration of Independence and of our nation.
This fundamental principle of individual freedom has lost its luster in recent years. There is no longer a bright line between governmental authority and the consent of the people. Consequently, individual freedom is diminishing while governmental authority is expanding. The work of previous "Commissions on
" have identified the policies that burdened the blacks and women, and proposed remedies to expand their freedom and opportunities. A U.S. Commission on the Status of Freedom should examine federal policies that have eroded individual freedom and recommend ways to restore those freedoms. Commissions at the state level should examine state policies and find ways to further restore freedoms that have been usurped by state and local governments.

Surely others can add to the Henry Lamb's list.
The state can and does threaten parents with armed police, foster care, and court action if they do not bow down to their government school masters. Children are forced into prison-like institutions and subjected to non-stop government proselytizing in the government religion of atheistic, secular humanist, materialistic, morally relativistic lberal/Marxism!
The state will also send out armed sheriffs to sell at auction any business or residence of anyone refusing to pay taxes to support this god-less government religious, political, and cultural indoctrination.
If a citizen resists the government school directed police, he will be arrested and imprisoned. If he were to be foolish enough to seriously resist, the police will kill him. (Real bullets in those guns on the hip!)
Then there is the IRS!
I feel like a slave! It cost us thousands of dollars to merely manage the taxes of our personal lives, business, and employee taxes. The government uses us ( without compensation) as UNPAID TAX COLLECTORS! ( Yes! I am shouting!)
Third is illegal immigration!
If the government would do ITS job, then employers and others would have far less of a job in policing illegal immigration! If an illegal immigrant were to show up in an employer's office, the least that the government could do would show up in 10 minutes to arrest them and deport them within the week!
How much of our lives are controlled by the threat of exposure to legal actions?
We live under a litigious tyranny of sorts- insurance costs, legal fees, restricted activities at every turn.
Lest we think that it’s not related to government oppression, let’s remind ourselves that most politicians are lawyers, and write laws which benefit their professional interests.
