A recent study conducted by the University of New Hampshire confirms what curmudgeons in these parts have been complaining about for a long time: The Granite State may be turning into a suburb of Boston. more stories like thisThe report, "The Changing Faces of New Hampshire: Recent Demographic Trends in the Granite State," released last month by the Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire, indicates that nearly 25 percent of New Hampshire residents were born in Massachusetts, and Internal Revenue Service data indicate that the largest source of new migrants to New Hampshire is Greater Boston. According to the report, 57 percent of the current population of New Hampshire were born outside the state. The national average is about 40 percent.

masshole alert.
New Hampshire needs to build a fence!
Sounds like the spreading of a fatal disease. ;-)
(Moultonboro, NH)
You can have ‘em! Four more years. We are outta heeyah!
NH better wake up and smell the Voter fraud in “same day Shaheen registration”. John McCain wouldn’t have been on the political map without it.
Massholes take their evil with them.
Liberalism is like a cancer, it spreads!
Same thing happening out west as Californians move to surrounding states.
Liberals, having fouled their nest, move away to foul their new nest too. But wait! Liberals: If liberalism were good - for you, for your community, for your state, wouldn’t you want to stay in those places where you hold a large majority and therefore a lock on political power?
It IS the spreading of a loathsome disease. New York has infected Vermont, and Boston is infecting N.H. and Maine. (Portland is well on the way to becoming a New England San Franfreako.)
You’d think that the state motto: “Live Free or Die”, would turn off all those Massholes.
Yep, it’s official. We’re now a suburb of the People’s Republic of Cambridge.
Omens and signs of impending doom:
* The Old Man of the Mountain collapsed in 2003.
* NH legislature went blue in 2006.
* NH will be getting its first Whole Foods Market - 55,000 sq. ft. - in one of those trendy “lifestyle” retail centers. Who needs farm stands! /s
They think it means that the government should pay for everything.
The omen was the first Home Depot. You didn't need to be a prophet to see the handwriting on the wall then.
Sad. I have a few hundred relatives in Massachussetts and, trust me, they should be forced to stay there.
I lived in SoCal 76-89. So true!
Easterners are generally A**holes period.
There are 500 some brave souls from MA who belong to Free Republic and are Conservative, other than that we cannot open our mouths and survive!
My extended family loves to enjoy my Republican hospitality as we are generous people but they HATE our politics.
Like most liberals, they come back for the food, the drinks, and the ambience. They are all for free, but we have a giant Library of Conservative books prominently displayed and we have no shame in tweaking them all with our views. We even put National Review on display in the porcelain library.
We enjoy torturing these twits, Can’t wait til Easter!!
Always threaten to crush their cars with my gas guzzling SUV.
Gonna buy a bigger one soon!
It’s the only way to have fun in Masshole-achusetts!
Just like liberals from Western Pennsylvania are doing a number on Central Ohio. My county is full of PA refugees who have helped turn it from Red to Blue.
I have been a frequent visitor (from N.J.) to the Granite State since the mid-1990s. I started noticing this sad phenomenon some years ago, and it has been depressing watching it creep slowly northward in the state.
Man, you would, wouldn’t you? I still remember my first encounter with New Hampshire in late 69 and on and off through the 70s - what a wonderful place it was. It really hurts to see it destoyed this way.
