I listened to a speech by Dr. Jeffery Bauer. He made great good sense to alot of problems. His main point was that there will be a death spiral (which is what would happen with ‘universal health care’)in the health care system if individuals do not have fiscal and physical responsibility for their health care.
We could save billions by fixing the ‘overtreatments and undertreatments’ currently in the health care system.
The wrong solution is to throw more money at it!
Agreed.
For the record: I shouldn't have used the words, "fun to watch." Some of these stories are very sad.
Thanks for the links. I watched “Uninsured in America,” and I wanted to slap the first young lady through cyberspace.
I wonder if those uninsured people had any idea how their interviews would be used. :-0
Thanks for watching the videos. I was hoping more people would check them out. I think these videos are a good response to “Sicko”.
I watched that first video and it was excellent! Those are great links. Got to keep getting the word out about the big lie.
This Gen X or whatever they are, they are really something. To get billed and then blow off the bill! No wonder the health care is so $, it’s not just the technology, it’s all the losers and deadbeats.
I watched the video about “two women” and almost cried. That is absolutely awful. What I don’t get is that if they were going to pay for the procedure in Canada, why didn’t they just come here?
If I had been in those shoes, I’d hock everything I had, but I’m in a good financial position. It appeared as if they had the money but were told they couldn’t. THAT’S EXACTLY what I am afraid is going to happen here. They really do invade your life, don’t they?
I was thinking the same as I watched “Two Women”, but, as the saying goes, hindsight is 20/20. My family faced a healthcare dilemma and, in the end, we looked back and thought about how other options might have brought about a different outcome. We just didn’t know about all the things that could go wrong until they all went wrong. My guess is, this woman and her mother didn’t know much, either.
You’re right, what a sad story. More people should watch these stories. Our healthcare system has problems, but “universal healthcare” would make the problems worse.
You do make a good point; and when one is facing a health care crisis, or in pain, decision making is not always done as well as it might be under different circumstances.
I appreciate you posting this stuff on here - I had never even heard of the website but have now bookmarked it for future reference.
Bottom line (IMHO) is that our system is not perfect and does need some help but I still think it is far superior to what these other countries have (or rather do not have).
