Clinton, McCain passport records were also viewed

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The passport files of presidential candidates Sen. Hillary Clinton, a Democrat, and Sen. John McCain, a Republican, were improperly accessed by State Department workers, a U.S. official said on Friday.
The official, who asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the matter, declined further comment. On Thursday, the State Department said it had fired two employees and disciplined a third for having snooped in the passport files of Sen. Barack Obama, an Illinois Democrat running for president.
At least Obama cannot be portrayed as the victim now. Last night, Olbermann spent an entire hour on this.
Clinton's were accessed innocently by a trainee in a training class last year.
Kinda takes the air out of Obama’s grievance sails. LOL. Olberman will be sad.
So what the heck is in these files to make this such a big deal? Name, address, place of birth? I mean, really.
My gosh! This means that when I was applying for my passport, and thereafter, that some government people actually looked at the info! Intolerable! Oh the agony!
WTF is there in a passport file anyway that isn’t already widely known?

If there was anything good in there, aren’t these employees the types the media always praises? Oh, I see, we don’t want to find out Obama’s “secret” information.
Hmmmm. I wonder if Henry Waxman is as anxious to investigate the incident around McCain’s file being breached as he is about investigating Obama’s.
I was just wondering the same thing.
It stinks that someone might do the snooping but what is in there that would cause such a ruckus.
I mean its not like the FBI turned over 900 files to the President/First Lady or anything.
Just when Obama thought it was safe to start screaming “racists!” at Republicans. Heh.
Stupid me, of course this guy's meaningless passport info is more precious than the lives of our troops.
You're assuming he wont completely ignore the other breaches...
“Obama and McCain’s were accessed by the same person.”
No wonder ! Despite their opinion on Iraq they sound almost the same. It’s a shame for the GOP that there is no real conservative candidate left over, even before the convention.
I’m glad someone else asked the question first. I’ve been wondering the same, ever since this story broke.
Ping!

Well, we need to make sure whether our presidential candidates visit countries that sponser terrorism.
