Well, the February numbers are out for the Presidential sweepstakes. And the numbers for McCain are downright depressing compared to either of his potential Democrat rivals. (Source)
February 2008
McCain: $11 million
Clinton: $34.5 million
Obama: $55.4 million
And here are the totals through the end of February:
Total
McCain: $66.4 million
Clinton: $155.6 million
Obama: $197.3 million
And finally:
Cash-on-hand minus Campaign Debt
McCain: $3.7 million
Clinton: $24.5 million
Obama: $38.2 million
So both Democrats continue to easily outpace McCain in fundraising and cash-on-hand even though McCain is now free to focus on raising money while the Democrats are still fighting a bruising campaign battle. It seems that McCain/Feingold has succeeded in getting the money out of at least one presidential campaign. The campaigns of the Democrats, to this point, appear unaffected.
Gosh, John (I believe Climate Change is Real) McCain...I thought all those Moderates and Independents would rally to the cause!
Sooner or later, McCain needs to realize it is “The Base” of the party that campaigns, donates, makes phone calls, puts out signs, talks to neighbors, etc. McCain continues to ignore, dismiss, even cast aside, conservative supporters.
The Libs have LOTS of money for either candidate.
I will vote for McCain. But, as many said about Thompson, Hunter, Romney, etc., the candidate must INSPIRE the voters.
Defending McCain-Feingold, apologizing for “fringe elements” every day and staying drunk on the “Green” kool-aid isn’t very inspiring.
If McCain wants to raise money and win, running further to the Left won’t do it.
I won’t give McCain the sweat off my butt.
I hope McCain/Feingold bites him big time.
McCain is another moderate Democrat - not good enough for us to vote for or throw money at.
Since there are three democrats running, the leftist money is split and the conservative money is going to other races.
“Thus showing that at some point (as we saw with Romney) it just doesnt matter how much money you throw at a campaign - if youre a stinker, you get smelt.”
What it shows is that while Hillary and Obama stink five times as much as McCain, he still stinks up the place as well. McCain alienated his base and while Romney’s money couldn’t put him over the top, the RNC better think twice about shoving a RINO down our throats who can’t raise money from his own party.
I think that nobody cares about the Republican side right now, and they won’t until there is an actual (defined) threat from the Dems. Then you’ll see fund raising pick up. Besides, it’s hard to get excited about sending money to the cryptkeeper.
There are currently 3 liberal democrats in the running, none of whom will get a penny from me either. Two of them are honest about their party affiliation. One is not.
Luckily, we as humans generally only pick up on the worst smell in the room.
The RNC has a lot of money and it is all going for McCain.
I wouldn't be too sure. RATS aren't particular about where the money comes from.
Where are all his cheapskate Independent friends?
Should this amount ($1.86 US) be insufficient to boost your sagging coffers, may I suggest you approach your "Spanish Outreach Adviser" Juan ("Dual-Citizenship-Holding-Pro-Open-Borders-Anti-American-Latino-Supremacist-Pandering") Hernandez.
I would imagine he would be more than happy to tap into his reserves even if need be funneled thru his fellow associates within the Mexican Government.
Should that fail, why not reach out to the 12-20 million "Undocumented Immigrants" you so want to grant Amnesty? I cannot imagine that they would not gladly contribute?
Vaya Con Dios Muchacho. Mi Casa is NOT Su Casa, Get It?
McCain’s inability to get anybody (read Conservatives) behind him is at the crux of his fund-raising dilema. Liberal-leaning Republicans don’t seem to ‘give’ with the same generosity as Conservatives.
If McCain continues to be cash-strapped — and I think he will be — he will need the help of Talk Radio. We already know what the answer will be there (lukewarm support at best). Then he will turn to his friends in the MSM — and we know that they will not help him at crunch time.
I just don’t see anybody outside the (underfunded) McCain campaign who will be willing to carry his water for him. I see another “Bob Dole” type election loss.
... and when it appears that McCain "can't win" -- as it did with Bob Dole -- that money will shift to House & Senate campaigns to stem the losses there.
Look at the March numbers when they come in. McCain will be in much better shape on the income and cash on hand.
And the numbers for McCain are downright depressing compared to either of his potential Democrat rivals.
Well golly gee. A career of backstabbing conservatives, undermining Dubya & Rummy. Pushing Global Warming hooey and Amnesty for 20 million CRIMINAL INVADERS and he can't raise money.
SO................
"Do I Really Have To Say It?"
Everyone should send such a letter to his campaign office. I had thought about sending him a Mexican flag to adorn his mantle, but he probably already has one of those.
