Westminster Eagles/FReepers Head to Walter Reed and Washington DC: March 14 & 15, 2008

Posted on 03/20/2008 7:56:48 PM PDT by RockerMom2MyHero

There was no Westminster Rally this Saturday as PatrioticMarineMom, her hubby, my hubby, my son, my dad and I headed to Washington DC for the Support the Troops March. Gathering together and joining hundreds of Vets, Military Family Members, Eagles, FReepers and True Patriots was a truly incredible experience. There is just no way to convey the pride and joy we felt standing up for America and our brave Troops who defend us and our freedoms. All that patriotism was so astonishing and what a wonderful sight to see all the RED WHITE & BLUE marching towards the Capitol then making a turn to come down through the National Mall. The stories, videos and pictures are wonderful, but unless you were there in person to experience it, you just don't know how awesome it was to participate in such an historical event.

While we were waiting for the March to begin, it gave us time to check out the WWII Memorial, which we had not seen. As you can tell by the pictures,
the WWII Memorial is a magnificent tribute to the WWII Vets that sacrificed their lives for their country. A must see if you ever get to Washington DC.

Since our first Westminster Rally back on October 27, 2007, our main goal was eventually to get to Walter Reed. Friday night, we finally made it to stand with the dedicated DC Chapter FReepers who show their support for the wounded soldiers. No wonder they are there every Friday night! It was just amazing to see the soldiers returning on the bus from dinner and how appreciative they were. That is what it’s all about.
Troops, Troops, Nothing But The Troops! We sure hope to get to Walter Reed more often. It's something you must experience at least once in your life. God Bless those soldiers and their families.

It was great to see you and your family at Walter Reed and again on Saturday for the Pro-troop rally in DC. I need to make a trip to Westminster again and buy you that beer that I promised.

The Westminster crew are a great group who are dedicated to our troops. If you are from Maryland or southcentral PA, please join the Westminster patriots. You will be sure to receive plenty of honks, waves, and “thank-you” from the community.

That’s great to hear! We are in this together and try to make sure our troops get the support they deserve.

It was great to see you again and an honor to finally make it to Walter Reed and then the big March in DC. Look forward to seeing you in Westminster sometime and taking you up on that beer. 2nd round is on me!

Thanks for the plug too! :)

prior to the rally at the Washington Monument, while bringing up an additional speaker/amplifier unit, a number of people said "Hello". If I missed saying hello in return, I apologize.

I was under the mistaken impression that the opening of the festivities was minutes away and I was also paying close attention to the loaner unit so it wouldn't fall off the luggage type cart. When it's not my stuff, I try to be very careful and this was a nice, EXPENSIVE amp/speaker.

Ever time you do another one of these you learn something to make it better and this was no exception.

Anyone having a need for portable public address equipment for this kind of event, please don't hesitate to contact me.
