Obama Harbors Racial Sterotype: Grandma is "Typical White Person" with "inbred" fear of blackmen

It seems the more Barack Obama tries to explain the peculiar statement he made Tuesday concerning his white grandmother's "fear of black men who passed by her on the street," the more he's assuring attention regarding the matter.

"The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity...But she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know . . .inbred...reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way."

"But she is a typical white person."

So I am permitted to say that typical black people eat lots of fried chicken?

How is this not racist?

woops:

It should be “bred in”, rather than “inbred”, but the meaning and context are exactly the same.

Bottom line: This “beyond race” presidential aspirant has publicly declared that white people can be negatively stereotyped as having inbred fears of unfamiliar black men they encounter on the street.

Its wrong on so many levels - but clearly he is a hypocrite. Which is what the Wright tapes reveal.

No. The more he talks the more we know what he really believes. His lack of political prowess (the truth) is coming out.

I don’t think that’s what he said yesterday. He said she made racial slurs that made him cringe and that he possessed a fear of black men.

This guy is your typical street con man and let’s face it, he’s just a little more educated than your average black politician etc.

If this guy is elected to our highest office then there is something really really wrong here. If he is able to dupe the press and the populice of this country to make it as president, with no background or experience other than the fancy con words, then shame on us.

Obama's maternal grandmother will be be blessed in heaven, for obama's dissing the commandment of "honor thy father and mother(elders)"

The poor women takes him in and raises him with love and this is the thanks she gets, being called a racist, for his own political aggrandizement.

Surely I can’t be the only person to notice that the only folks yammering on about racism, and consistently playing race as an issue in this campaign season are the DhimmiRats...

The hypocrisy is deafening.

Liberalism needs to die on this vine, forever.

While his dad abondoned him at 2 and his moonbat mother did at 10, it was his white grandmother who raised him and sent him to the best schools.

If he’s willing to throw her under the bus, imagine what he’ll do the USA.

The wheels really seem to be falling off the wagon. This past Sunday my 90ish grandmother asked me on the way out of church what I thought about “those things Obama’s pastor said”. This story is grabbing people who don’t normally pay close attention.

God, it’s only March. Hillary may pull this one out yet, although as it stands now...he is the clear nominee. He has the delagates and the votes...

If I were he, I’d keep my mouth shut...

I thought that he was rather intelligent despite his horrid world view. However, suggesting that his white grandmother, who took him in, was a bigot because someone scared her is stupid. Is is not human nature to tend toward the familiar and away from the unfamiliar? Isn’t that why McDonalds has served billions? And didn’t Obama’s book describe his grandmother as being afraid of an aggressive black pan-handler? This idea that white people are supposed to be colorblind except for handing out affirmative action money and that blacks can hate whitey for some perceived slight or some ancestoral crime is just plain idiotic.

“So I am permitted to say that typical black people eat lots of fried chicken?”

Only if you mention watermelon too.

Typical White Person?

Obama: Wright Not Racist, But Grandma Is

That’s not how the incident is described in Mr. Obama’s first autobiography, “Dreams From My Father,” p 46:

I took her into the other room and asked her what had happened.

“A man asked me for money yesterday. While I was waiting for the bus.”

“That’s all?”

Her lips pursed with irritation. “He was very aggressive, Barry. Very aggressive. I gave him a dollar and he kept asking. If the bus hadn’t come, I think he might have hit me over the head.”

I returned to the kitchen. Gramps was rinsing his cup, his back turned to me. “Listen,” I said, “why don’t you just let me give her a ride. She seems pretty upset.” “By a panhandler?”

“Yeah, I know — but it’s probably a little scary for her, seeing some big man block her way. It’s really no big deal.”

He turned around and I saw now that he was shaking. “It is a big deal. It’s a big deal to me. She’s been bothered by men before. You know why she’s so scared this time? I’ll tell you why. Before you came in, she told me the fella was black.” He whispered the word. “That’s the real reason why she’s bothered. And I just don’t think that’s right.”

The words were like a fist in my stomach, and I wobbled to regain my composure. In my steadiest voice, I told him that such an attitude bothered me, too, but assured him that Toot’s fears would pass and that we should give her a ride in the meantime. Gramps slumped into a chair in the living room and said he was sorry he had told me. Before my eyes, he grew small and old and very sad. I put my hand on his shoulder and told him that it was all right, I understood.

We remained like that for several minutes, in painful silence. Finally he insisted that he drive Toot after all, and struggled up from his seat to get dressed. After they left, I sat on the edge of my bed and thought about my grandparents. They had sacrificed again and again for me. They had poured all their lingering hopes into my success. Never had they given me reason to doubt their love; I doubted if they ever would. And yet I knew that men who might easily have been my brothers could still inspire their rawest fears.

This is a weird anecdote on several levels. At the very least it is hard to see how Mrs. Dunham’s fears were not justified.

Moreover, Obama puts the charge of racism in the mouth of his now deceased grandfather, who in the book seemed to delight in discovering racism in everyone.

Meanwhile, his grandmother is being carefully sequestered from the media.

But isn’t it amazing that Mr. Obama is happy to call his sainted grandmother who raised him a racist, but he still can’t bring himself to say that Mr. Wright is one? Weren’t Mr. Wright’s racist comments also “a fist in his stomach”? Isn’t Mr. Obama half white?

Isn’t he an American?
