Multiple sources are reporting that U.S. Representative Tom Reynolds (R, NY) will announce that he is retiring. While, Reynolds' press secretary declined to confirm or deny the reports, his office confirmed that the congressman will hold a press conference at noon in Buffalo and at 2 p.m. in Greece on Thursday.
NY cant afford to lose any Republicans.
Greece, NY by any chance, or is he going to the Parthenon to make the announcement?
Expect Skelos and Padavan’s State Senate seats to go Dem once they retire. Those guys have been there forever and demograpic and ideological changes make it inevitable. In other words, say goodbye to RINO control of the State Senate and hello to Marxist/Leninist control.
uh, noon in Buffalo, 2p.m. in Greece, I guess that answers my question.
Reynolds will be missed. His district is fairly reliably Republican, but unfortunately we don’t have many fairly reliable Republicans left up here to run. I think the media war against him during the ridiculous Foley scandal soured Reynolds on remaining in Congress.
Let's face it: more than any other state (with the possible exception of Taxachusetts), New York is a bad place to be a Republican.
True conservatives, whenever possible, vote with their feet and leave. That doesn't exactly give us a big pool from which to draw candidates.
See, if he’d just cheated on his wife multiple times, including with at least one state employee, he could have stayed in office.
He could be the Governor soon.
The Foley mess nearly beat him last time. He won by only 52%-48%. I wonder if Jack Davis, the Dem, will run again.
The “shame” is that all 435 of the know-nothing, do-nothing arse hats aren’t being forcibly removed from office. Not a one of the lot is worth keeping. We’d be better off with a sysem that randomly picked congress critters from the phone directory.
It seems like the only people that retire from Congress are Republicans. Do not democrats ever retire?
Hopefully we can hold it. The last time a Democrat won it was Max McCarthy in 1968.
Too bad any replacement will probably be a RINO.
McNulty in NY is retiring, but we have zero chance of winning that Albany seat. Bud Cramer is retiring in AL, and we have a good shot at that seat, despite that it has been 140 years (1868) since we ever won that district.
Chances are, George Maziarz will be the nominee. He already represents much of the district in the state Senate.

Is he any good, and will we hold his State Senate seat ?
All I know is what I heard from others. He’s fairly good, although he’s an urban machine boss. The state Senate seat could go either way.
thanks, bfl
