Demonstrators face off outside Tacoma mall (anti-war protesters outnumbered - big time)

About 150 people -- those opposed to the Iraq War and those supporting it -- gathered noisily outside a Tacoma Mall office building on Saturday.

A group known as World Can't Wait had organized an anti-war protest to mark the coming fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. But long before their protest was scheduled to begin, counter-protesters arrived.

The counter-protesters surrounded an office building that houses military recruiting offices, which anti-war protesters had said they planned to "shut down." They shouted "God bless our troops" and waved American flags.

We need to keep doing this to beat them back - they are cowards. In my small community we did this way back in beginning of the war when the gutter rats started their cr*p downtown. It only took two weeks of us showing up in greater numbers, better signs, MUCH more "honking support" and playing "Glad to be an American" -

they slunk back into the gutters and stayed there...

You are right I did tear up. I was at DFW airport on my way home yesterday and I saw a soldier in uniform at the next table and I bought his dinner.

What I find (predictably) humorous is that the written story
shows a decidedly anti-war side friendly slant, but the video
is more accurate as to the ‘real’ story. One can only hope
that more and more of these stories get out to the general
public to tell the truth to those who only hear CNN or CBS/
ABC/NBC slant.
