About 150 people -- those opposed to the Iraq War and those supporting it -- gathered noisily outside a Tacoma Mall office building on Saturday.

A group known as World Can't Wait had organized an anti-war protest to mark the coming fifth anniversary of the Iraq War. But long before their protest was scheduled to begin, counter-protesters arrived.

The counter-protesters surrounded an office building that houses military recruiting offices, which anti-war protesters had said they planned to "shut down." They shouted "God bless our troops" and waved American flags.

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS!

Dear God, who suffered
torment, agony and death upon the Cross
to free our souls from the chains of iniquity;
protect and defend our troops.
Guide them in the performance of
their Duty.
Strengthen them to endure hardship
danger, and deprivation in
Your service.
Let their efforts free the people
of Iraq from the chains of terror
and slavery, foster a lasting peace
in the region, and bring all to a
greater share in Your mercy.
Amen.

When I was in the Navy, I worked a short time between duty stations at this very same recruiting office building. I think it was 1979. I would of never dreamed then that I would be back in 30 years defending the placed from maggot infested hippies trying to shut it down.

...probably from Evergreen State Col the most liberal campus on the west coast...

I believe Humboldt State College in Arcata, CA could give ‘em a run for their money.

I at one time though Berkeley was, but was quickly pointed to the fact by an alumni, that they have a pretty sizable and active group of Young Republicans there.

"World Can't Wait"? 5th Year since Iraq? I guess the world can wait. Patiently, too.

For Victory!

The freaks that show up and do their loudmouthed nonsense are always pathetic creatures.

It never ceases to amaze me just how silly they look and act.

They can't help themselves, apparently, so we will continue to defend their right to make total fools of themselves, I suppose.

When I see them, I just think to myself, AH! Democrats, the alternative energy source! Who needs oil?

What we need is a new kind of Cookbook!

(Sorry brother Tonk, sometimes I just get carried away)

Wow that is great news. I’m sure the pro America people were respectful too, and did not threaten the traitors in any way. If things were the other way around though, we know these advocates for “peace” will always turn to violence and hate.

“maybe Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, CA could beat them all.”

Maybe, but even the lefties in California cannot boast about having their very own statue of Vladimir Lenin, proudly displayed in Seattle's Fremont district, not far from the U of W

Ooo, be careful about letting them do that. Risky for active duty to take part in a demo.
