Sen. John McCain and his staff have been adamant for days that his upcoming overseas trip to Britain, France and Israel is not political.

McCain's campaign has sent out an invitation for a March 20 luncheon at Spencer House -- the neo-classical home built for an ancestor of Diana, the late Princess of Wales -- "by kind permission of Lord Rothschild OM GBE and the Hon. Nathaniel Rothschild."
The price to attend is $1000 to $2,300. And the dress code for the event? "Lounge suits" -- British for business attire.
Jill Hazelbaker, McCain's campaign spokeswoman, said today that Congress will be reimbursed for the political portions of the trip.
The campaign is paying for McCain's flight home, since he is flying separately from the rest of the Congressional delegation.
"We are also paying for the fundraiser and his hotel that evening in London," Hazelbaker said. "We will reimburse the Treasury for the cost of a flight to London."

Especially those “Americans” who show up with the cash. Could be a Hillary/Chinese money type funding scheme where the Brit govt/banks bundle money via American proxies.
More Bull: McCain talking about “climate change” and “international cooperation”, the latter code words for cap and trade. Heck, he may feel secure enough to say “cap and trade.”

Me, too. Tony Blair helped Arnold before launch his "Global Warming Solutions Act" in California and later, similar legislation with Crist in Florida. Now they are getting ready to take it nationwide with McCain. The mantra is very much the same ("good for the economy"... "green technologies"...). The Rothschild clan also had meetings with Arnie (and his buddy Warren Buffett) before being elected.

Actually, it all of ‘em in England, here its Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, even the Bank of America leader piped up about cap and trade recently.

McCain is a passionate environmentalist, who takes the threat of climate change seriously. “I know it’s a prime issue for Gordon Brown as well as Tony Blair and I’m expecting him to raise the issue with me,” he said. Friends believe it will be a “mood-changer” for America’s reputation in Europe, which soured when Bush refused to sign the Kyoto protocol early on in his presidency.
The meeting is strictly supposed to be about national security – McCain is coming here as a member of the Senate armed services committee rather than a presidential candidate – but no matter. “There is a very real connection between oil at $109 a barrel and national security,” he said. “We are sending nearly half our trade deficit to countries that do not like us very much and some of it is ending up in the hands of terrorists. That’s a fact.”
If America and Europe do not lessen their dependence on oil, he wondered: “What happens if there is a cataclysmic event which cuts off this supply?”
