The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton essentially even in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. It’s Obama 46% Clinton 45% (see recent daily results). This reflects an unusually sharp change from yesterday’s results when Obama led by eight points and reached the 50% level of support for the first time. Daily tracking results are collected via nightly telephone surveys and reported on a four-day rolling average basis. Last night’s results were very favorable for Clinton and it remains to be seen whether this marks a lasting change in the race or is merely statistical noise. Single night results are based upon very small samples and are more volatile than the overall tracking poll.
Looking to November, John McCain now holds a slight lead over both Democrats in the General Election. It’s McCain 47% Obama 42% and McCain 46% Clinton 42% (see recent daily results). It appears that Clinton’s challenges to Obama may be helping McCain at least in the short-term. McCain’s polling numbers against Obama began improving during the run-up to the hard-fought Democratic Primaries in Ohio and Texas. Obama has a three-percentage point edge over McCain among unaffiliated voters but is currently supported by just 65% of Democrats. By way of comparison, McCain earns the vote from 80% of Republicans.

Looks as if the American public is starting to learn more about Senator Obama; and what they’ve learned, they don’t like.
Senator Rodham will pull out a squeaker at the convention, then lose to McCain in November.
Lets hope this spills over into the general election.
Yes, as I’ve been saying for the past several years, national politics has become like a race to the bottom, with both major parties seeing how badly they can screw up and offend the voters.
In this race to the bottom, I wouldn’t rule out John McCain and the RNC.
I’d say that the most probably reason for this abrupt shift is the YouTubes of Wright’s sermons. They are absolutely abominable, and even my liberal connections who spoke to me about them were appalled.
And there’s more, even worse stuff out there about Obama. I think he’s cooked.

It’s too bad that so many people are such slow learners — but I hope that it’s starting to seep into their skulls that neither Dem candidate is fit for the presidency (and that’s an understatement). McCain isn’t the greatest either, but he is miles better than those other two.
If there’s more out there about Obama, Hillary will find it and show it. Obama is too slick.....or at least he thinks he is. He will loose White support pretty fast now.
This should have waited until after Pennsylvania.
Beyond his ability to construct a sentence, I could never see what is there to like.
If Obama hangs out with such racist, hateful people as Rev. Wright, you can bet he holds the same views. It is obvious that Michelle is a nasty woman with a ‘tude and I am sure Barak is the same.
Bottom line is that they all hate whitey, but know how to play on the white guilt of whitey to get to where they want to be. No thanks.
Everybody thought Obama was new, fresh, a promoter of change and different. Now they know he’s no different from the type of militant folks we abhore.

That’s the bad news- this story broke with a few hundred superdelegates still uncommitted. Even the Dems aren’t stupid enough to nominate this piece of 527-bait after Kerry got trashed with much less inflammatory material.
We’ll have to deal with Hillary- she’s beatable, but not as beatable as Obama would have been with skeletons like these in his closet.
I agree!!! It would be better if Obama had a bigger lead in the delegate count before this came out. That way, when Hillary steals the nomination at the convention, it would seem a huger travesty than it might end up. I have a funny feeling that Hillary will win Pennsyltucky by a whopping margin and the momentum (along with do-overs in FL & MI) will allow her to close the delegate gap before the convention.

Obama is a more beatable foe than the comeback kid's wife.
I saw these poll results and two words came to mind: Rush Limbaugh.
Every Sermon of Jeramiah Wright has been controversal because of its black values overtones... For Obama to say that he did not agree and would have walked out and spoken out about Wright is a flat out LIE>>>>>>
Obama is a liar...in the mold of Bill Clinton but unlike Clinton... Obama hates this country.
The only thing that we can do now is to ask Republicans in PA, NC & In to crossover and vote for Obama. If that doesn't happen, Hillary's momentum might allow he r to catch him. I'd rather he have a huge delegate lead going into the convention, then if she steals it, it will create a backlash.
