A tornado in Atlanta? Does Atlanta have any kind of tornado warning system (sirens, alets, etc)? I know that Georgia gets bad storms and tornadoes, but this is the first time that I have heard of a tornado hitting the city.

That would explain the Georgia Dome damage in the other thread.

Wow... this was scary. My son is at the Georgia Dome.. we were watching... a tornado definitely hit the building. There’s been damage and the game that was being played has been stopped for nearly 1 hour... getting ready to re-start now.

Thanks for the link. Another FReeper pinged me to a thread about wind damage to the stadium. The story did not mention a tornado. This is freaky. I have been through tornado warnings and alerts before (as well as a near miss).

I was pinged to a thread that stated that the rafters of the Georgia Dome were swaying. That would unkink anyone’s colon. I assume that he is uninjured.

Atlanta, GA Fire Department reporting “Multiple Buildings Down”. They are now confirming injuries and are not committing resoruces until they identify which buildings have victims in them. This is sounding worse and worse.

A tornado is no laughing matter.
