Teachers’ unions are pro-choice on abortion, but not on education. They use their enormous political capital with the Democrat Party to block voucher initiatives in whatever state or municipality proposes them, including in California. Consequently, many parents home-school their children at their own expense, even though they still have to pay local property taxes which are spent mostly on public schools their children do not attend. Right now, about 166,000 California children are taught at home. But last week, an California appeals court declared that all children must be taught by a “credentialed” teacher. It means that most home-schooling parents without teaching credentials would be violating California law and subject to prosecution. This is going to touch off a political conflagration.
The teachers’ unions love it. "We're happy," said Lloyd Porter, who is on the California Teachers Association board of directors, to the San Francisco Chronicle. "We always think students should be taught by credentialed teachers, no matter what the setting." A.J. Duffy, president of United Teachers Los Angeles, said he agrees with the ruling. "What's best for a child is to be taught by a credentialed teacher," he told the Los Angeles Times.

Some of THE dumbest folks I met in college were "education majors" - though I DID have a few good teachers in HS.
Pro-choice only means it’s ok to kill a baby, or take it up the butt (if you’re born that way). Otherwise, it takes a village and you darn better do it the village way, or else.
“Credentialed” simply means having passed through the teacher’s unions indoctrination programs.
It can't be all bad, since it's “for the children.”
Leave the thinking to “credentialed” experts that have a right to take your money and tell you what your children will learn.

Since the school system is failing our children, I'm curious what the actual value of those credentials is.
Also,,,prominent and wealthy people are now homeschooling their children. ( For example the actor Will Smith).
As thoughtful, intelligent, and caring parents take note of the successes in homeschooling, they will have the confidence to do it themselves. For example, in my own family, the success of my homeschoolers is hard to miss. My sister-in-law, a teacher for more than 20 years, is encouraging her children to homeschool their children!
As the percentages of children outside the government schools grows ( private and homeschool) the support at the voting booth for government schools decreases. Union members have good reason to be nervous.
Call them what they are: MARXISTS!
Liberals are NEVER satisfied! To a liberal, socialist policies are merely train stops on the line. They will not be satisfied until they reach their final destination: MARXISM!

And all the more reason for conservatives ( religious and non-religious) to formulate a reasonable and workable plan to completely shut every government K-12 school down!
I suggest that conservatives organize private scholarship foundations that would give private vouchers to students attending **conservative** private schools. The foundations could certify the schools, test the students, and certify the teachers.
The conservative foundation could also offer grants to conservative teachers to start inexpensive one room school houses, homeschool cooperatives, and tutoring centers.
The conservative foundations could start sports leagues to break the government monopoly on team sports that generates community support for the government K-12 madrassas.
Yes, it can be done! If colleges and universities can have endowments in the BILLIONS, then conservatives could do this for private education. THEY COULD DO IT IF THEY WOULD ONLY WAKE UP! Marxism in our government schools will kill freedom in this nation!
And the family continues to come under attack in the U.S., whether it's stepping on the right to home school your children, feminism, drive-by abortions, drive-by divorce, homosexual unions, marriage penalty taxes, or the police and Child Services harrassing parents on bogus allegations of "child abuse", we are losing our precious rights. Government has destroyed traditional/Biblical family principles and has redefined what a family is and who controls it. Paternal authority is a museum piece now, children are empowered over parents, mothers find themselves in trouble with the various child protective services over the most benign transgressions. Homosexual 'unions' have been given legal standing and financial incentive, further redefining what a family is and further destroying its value to a nation. All of this has been an extremely successful plan by the socialists and communists to gain control over the people. You control the family you control the nation. America is dying and our leaders keep providing the poison, and we keep voting for them.
