After Britain’s Profumo scandal, John Profumo devoted his life to working with poor people and he basically did penance for over 30 years. I wonder if Spitzer will do that?

Anything he does, by way of atonement, in his mind, will be done publicly, so that he can show everyone just what a wonderful person he truly is. Then he'll try to milk that for another political run in the future. He's THAT self-absorbed. I noticed that in his first speech on Monday, he apologized to his family, never even mentioning his wife, who was standing right next to him. He ought to be on the ground kissing her feet for putting up with his arrogant a$$! I know I wouldn't do it, but maybe she just liked the lifestyle and the opportunities it afforded their daughters. It is those daughters for whom I feel the most sorrow. They have to endure the public humiliation of their mother by their father.

I agree. I don't think Spitzer is a good man in any way. Profumo, on the other hand, actually cleaned public toilets in a charity ward for years. Literally. Eventually he was persuaded to use his contacts and engage in fund-raising for the poor, but he really felt he owed it to society to clean toilets for a while.

There's no way Spitzer will do that.

If they can’t trust their father to be faithful to their mother, they will NEVER trust their husbands. Just think what THEIR marriages will be like.

SPITZER is nothing but a self-serving pig.

It's a New York bigwig kind of thing. Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani ... the kids' moral development is not as important as The Dad's power, money and ego.
