Police in Durham, N.C., have arrested a man who may be a person of interest in the murder of a University of North Carolina student during an overnight raid and have handed him over to the Chapel Hill Police Department, according to ABC News affiliate WTVD.

Orange County District Attorney Jim Woodall said that police are now questioning a person of interest at the Chapel Hill Police Headquarters, according to WTVD.
Authorities in Durham and Chapel Hill would not confirm to ABC News that the man arrested was connected to the Carson investigation, but said authorities were meeting and would have some type of announcement for the media later today.
Durham is approximately 12 miles from Chapel Hill, where police have been investigating the fatal March 5 shooting. They have released two sets of images of the man they think tried to use Carson's ATM card in the night she was murdered.

Suspect Charged in UNC Student Slaying
HILLSBOROUGH, N.C. (AP) — Authorities have charged a suspect in the slaying of University of North Carolina student body president Eve Carson with first-degree murder.
Documents filed Wednesday named the defendant as 21-year-old Demario James Atwater, of Durham.
Chapel Hill police and District Attorney Jim Woodall gathered Wednesday afternoon in an Orange County courtroom for Atwater’s first appearance.
The 22-year-old Carson was found March 5 lying on a street about a mile from campus. The biology and political science major from Athens, Ga., had been shot several times, including once in the right temple.

MSNBC reports the 2nd suspect is now in custody.
Well- MSNBC must have been wrong- because there is a suspect still at large- 17 yr old black male, armed and dangerous..

He certainly looks like the photo in the convenience store - but not IMO like the photo in the car. Hopefully they have him nailed on a lot more than “he looks like the picture.”

The other suspect, the 17-year-old, is thought to be the one driving the vehicle.
I am so very grateful that arrests have been made. I live here and this has shaken us. What a terrible, senseless thing to do. What a lovely girl. Makes no sense at all.
The driver is still at large.
Some people on FR last night thought the two pictures were the of the same person - because of the poof of hair.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton remain mum on the subject.
They better charge him with a “hate” crime like they do all whites that commit violence against blacks. Same with the Auburn case where she was abducted on campus at gunpoint-unreal.
They should also ask Osama Obama what he thinks should happen to these brothers. He opposes the death penalty, probably because it’s unfair to brothers like these mutant butchers.
Do Not Use: "SUSPECT".
Replace With: "Person Of interest".
