NEW York's Governor spent up to $US80,000 ($85,000) on prostitutes who he asked to not wear a condom, it has been reported, as sordid details emerged in the sex scandal that threatens to hound him from office.
Eliot Spitzer became embroiled in the scandal on Tuesday when it was reported that he was linked to a US probe into a prostitution ring.
Mr Spitzer was caught on a listening device spending more than $4000 at the Emperor's Club call girl service.
Anonymous officials involved with the case have now been reported by the Associated Press as saying that Mr Spitzer had spent as much as $US80,000 with the service.
It is not clear over what time period that would have been, but the $4000 was reported to have paid for one night with a prostitute named Kristen with credit left over for future sessions.
That suggests Mr Spitzer made at least a couple of dozen visits to the prostitution service.
On the night of the visit with Kristen, Mr Spitzer booked two hotel rooms - one for him and one for her. He then slipped away from his security agents and met her in her room.

Scarry that those things cross your mind. My guess is that he wanted a variety of women, and a mistress is not variety.
[But did he get value for money???]
My question is, was he using taxpayers monies to pay the prostitutes. If so, is this not illegal. And why do democrats and rinos think that the taxpayers of America must support them. George Washington and the early founding fathers never used taxpayers monies and expected that no politician be paid for their services and Congress only met 2 weeks out of the year. And that was a very good thing.
$80,000 ping
His wife telling him not to resign is complete stupidity.”
Until I hear it from her lips, I don’t believe it. She is a lawyer herself, and if she is smart, she will be setting all the chess pieces onto the board for a hefty divorce settlement.
Just exposing me to STD’s would be enough reason for me to give the mister the old heave-ho.
Are you saying that you got "more bang for your buck?"
At $4000 a hit that'd probably be a "boy" ~ underage most likely.
He’s too ugly for a mistress, and I mean really ugly. The only reason his halfway decent looking wife is hooked up with him is for the gravy train.
I did not mean to be critical of SkyPilot. I was just sharing his joke.
What the cops are saying now is that they started investigating Spitzers structuring arrangements because they thought he was moving large sums of money around to conceal bribes. It was in the process of that investigation that they stumbled upon Emperor VIP.
So, in a twist to the usual pattern, the Spitzer wound up getting his hookers in trouble, instead of the other way 'round.
Huh?
It's OK if he was using public money?
Never mind - you're asking a question "is this" rather than making a statement "this is".

Coffee.
the use of the ‘unsafe’ code word between people in the business would certainly imply this as a possibility. No matter how I try, the language quoted in the press seems to imply more than vaginal sex w/o condom.
Maybe they will draw out the revelation for a few more days?
Spitzer’s family is really, really rich.
I think this has far more to do with the marginal utility of $4,000 than it has to do with the quality of the product. For some people, $4K is chump change. He probably paid that much in the hope that the woman and service would be discreet.
Of course, the irony of it all is that it was the moving of large sums of money that wound up tripping him up. If he had been bleeping out a couple hundred bucks out of the ATM to get a more reasonably priced hooker, he would never have been caught.
Just like Frank Gifford.
Ummm, last time I checked the code, prostitution was illegal no matter where the money came from. Did I miss a new law?
He’ll be going to sex addicts rehab as part of his “going away” deal.
Wonder how much it comes to over the years since he first started using Orgasmic Facilitators?
Definitely Not Gulty, wouldn’t you say?...
