Germany recognized Croatia as a sovereign nation when YU was still on the political map! Germany helped “precipitate” the decay and destabilize the former YU with that action.

Germany did this “unilaterally” outside the UN, NATO, or even EU. Gescher, your Aussenminister at the time was proud to proclaim this action, and although I generally think highly of the Kohl administration, this was their WORST foreign policy decision hands down.

(Germany was flooded with refugees, do you deny this?)
As the Balkans spiraled out of control, Germany as several other nations was flooded with refugees, and the problem was spreading in essence. Germany took on alone over 250,000 refugees, many sick etc.
