Why “stand by your man”? No, Michael, it’s to Silda’s credit she stood by, it does not mean she won’t dump him, but assuming she was shocked and startled and had to make a split decision what to do as the press was getting cameras ready, she kept in mind she has 3 daughters going to be affected, and decided to not do anything overly dramatic at the time. We will see, she has her options open now, she did not rush to a rash decision, she left it to Spitzer’s constituents to pass judgment. Women tend to first react by wanting family unity, especially if children are involved, but as details come out, she may dump him, let’s give her benefit of the doubt, she acted with class.
Let’s hope an investigation opens up against Muhammad Murtha. Duke Cunningham could use the company.

I have to disagree with you on this one. I think her standing there at his side at the press conference, gives the appearance of forgiveness for his actions. I think she should have been “in seclusion” while weighing her options (staying with el scumbag should not be one of the options!)

Murtha disgusts me. Duke Cunningham saddened me. Used to listen to him and B-1 Bob Dornan chew the dims to shreds on C-span in the early Klintoon years.
Ya know that’s a good point too. Even if she was trying to do the honorable thing, what MAN would ask his wife to put herself in that position in the eyes of the world? Hasn’t he hurt her enough? This is not a one-time mistake, but deliberately using expensive call girls over many years, very sleazy.

I agree, and what kind of message is spritzer's wife sending to her three daughters? What message did hildebeast send to chelsea? If I was this guy's wife, there is no way I would stand beside him while he made his little speech, I'd be home packing his clothes, etc. that is a slap in the face, public humiliation squared. Craig's wife, Mcgreevey's wife, spritzer's wife, kobe's wife, kennedy's wife, slick's wife,,,,the list is endless, what a bunch of spineless women.

She was not “used” - she knew full well what she was doing when she walked out with him, she chose to stand there, therefore she got what she deserved. Everyone has a choice,,,,if I was asked to stand out there I’d tell him to pound sand.
