WASHINGTON (AFP) - Barack Obama's White House campaign lashed out in fury Tuesday after a prominent Hillary Clinton supporter attributed his stunning march through US politics to his race.
Obama aide Susan Rice called for Clinton to fire Geraldine Ferraro, the only woman yet to run on a major party's presidential ticket, after her comments Friday to a Los Angeles newspaper.
"That's a really outrageous and offensive comment," Rice said on MSNBC television after Ferraro, who sits on Clinton's finance committee, had said: "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position."

duh! Isn't that almost the same thing Ferraro said?
Someone has to be the adult in the room. Gerri may not qualify on this issue.
Sure. Around 1965 when the New Left (Neo Commies) took over the civil rights movement, the Democrat Party, the universities, the media and imposed Marxist politically "correct" speech. Read your Orwell; it's all there.
LOL!
A few weeks ago, when they all but banned the use of Barack *this space for rent* 0’bambi’s middle name. Expect this to continue, and McCain is showing every sign of playing right into it. He’s going to spend the entire general election apologizing for or criticizing anyone and everyone who speaks the truth about 0’bambi.
Exactly right... that is the truth too... Mrs. William Clinton, wife of the impeached ex president. would not be running for president, or she would not have become a senator either, if she had not been married to the bent one
While I’m glad the long knives are out among the
(Con)Dems, this really is pc run amok.
It’s been politically incorrect for a LONG time to speak the truth about certain groups.
Recently, it’s evolved into a “crime” called “hate speech”.
If Hillary wasn’t married to a powerful man she’d have a “not too successful” small law practice in the suburbs of Chicago. She’s where she’s at because she got her M.R.S. degree.
Her comments were stupid, but not racist, and were not false either. A white man with identical histories as Barack Obama would NEVER be considered for President.
Being part-black is one of the major reasons for supporting Barack Obama.
The idea that it is racist to say that someone is achieving because they are black is absurd. Racist would be to say he’s NOT qualified because he is black. Ferraro is saying that his only qualification seems to be BECAUSE he is black.
That Obama campaign sure gets furious a lot. Wonder when we’ll start seeing articles about how hot-headed they are. Or how much of a whiner he seems to be.
Do we really want a President who seems to spend all his time complaining about everything people say about him “Mommy, he’s calling me black again, make him stop”.
I don’t think it’s a dupe, but if anyone doesn’t know the enter story, here are two FR threads with the quotes. The backlash continues. Invest in popcorn stock.

The Democrats are self-destructing before our eyes...it just doesn’t get any better than this.
One of their big supporters sat on the sunday talk shows and said that she was unqualified to be president, and that being married to a president wasn’t a “qualification”.
So they really already said it.
Man, I love seeing the Dims fight among themselves. Coudln’t happen to a nicer bunch.
Former Democrat VP candidate!!!!!
but if anyone doesnt know the enter [entire] story,
and no, spell check won’t catch that.
Geraldine Ferraro? Is she still around? Wasn’t she the woman who ran for VP? And wasn’t her husband involved with the mob? And wasn’t her son a drug user/dealer up there at Williams College? If I’m mistaken about that, please correct me.
What a monster comment, Geraldine. ROFL
That was former senator majority leader Tom Daschle.
