I am not terribly surprised by the Jesus element in this picture. There will always be those who chose to profane what others consider to be sacred. But the fact that they can actually publish defecation images is sick.

Puh-leeze.
He was treated worse than that before He was nailed to the cross.
To: Between the Lines
The South Park dudes did exactly that in their episode with (banned) Mohammed. They did it to show that all speech is permitted except criticism of islam.

See? THis just PROVES that Christians are as violent and intolerant as Muslims!!!!!!! Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the ones making the threats are Muslims. They do actualy revere Jesus as a prophet (though not as the Son of God), and they get angry when any prophet is profaned. I remember an Indian Muslim guy I knew in college who was mad at Salman Rushdie because he insulted Jesus in his books. Death threats are inappropriate (obviously). More appropriately, idiots like this Sigvardsson should be pointed out as the tasteless, crass wastes of human skin which they are, and ridiculed and mocked as such.

I call B.S. on the “threats.” I have serious doubts that any threats were issued by a Christian because of this publication, because a Christian knows that Jesus resides in our hearts and in our souls, and is not a piece of paper.

He was treated worse than that before He was nailed to the cross. Mel Gibson's The Passion film, as graphic as it was, wasn't even as bad as it actually was.........

I agree, this is BS. Like the nooses on the door knob. The Muslims can point at the evil Christians now.

All the more reason for Christians to stick up for Him. Threatening to cut throats is not the Christian way, but at least some effort should be made. After all, if you will not stick up for Him, why should He stick up for you, when the time comes?
As a side note, we have no way of knowing who made the threats, if they were really made at all. But one thing I would like to point out is that, in Islam, Jesus is a prophet (He is not considered divine by Muslims, as I understand it). Therefore, a poster like that would be offensive to them as well, theoretically.

It would definitely offend Muslims and would probably provoke violence. Back in the 1980s the most vocal opposition to Last Temptation of Christ (not a blasphemous film IMO, just extremely tedious) came from Muslims.

Absolutely. And of course we know that this is not a picture of Jesus, since one does not exist. So let them paint. It will be a long, dark night when their laughing stops.

More death threats from the ROP?
They claim that they are similarly outraged about rude depictions of Jesus and Moses.

What do you want to bet that it wasn't a christian that made the death threat/s?
A muslim may have made the threats just to be able to say, "See, Christians make death threats when their G*d is portrayed wrongly too."
Just what would you want to bet?

I hope the Christians in that area find the person who made that horrible poster and...tell him or her about how much Jesus really loves them and what He did to make them right with God.
This is hideous, but then satan IS hideous.
To: Between the Lines
The editor of a Swedish newspaper has received death threats for publishing a picture of Jesus being defecated on by the devil.Unless there is some point to the depiction other than simply trying to provoke outrage, the editor is simply playing the part of a phony martyr.
While certainly the people threatening him are wrong to do so, I have to think he is delighted to get the death threats. And may in fact, be making up or exaggerating the "persecution" that he is "suffering" for expressing his "beliefs".
Give us a break.

Just what would you want to bet? That is a sucker's bet. To whatever extent someone denies the Lords admonishment in the holy scripture: "Vengeance is mine" they are neither a Christian nor a Jew.

Sure. Controversial. Sure.
Translation: those Christians won’t give a [defecation] about this. They won’t protest in the streets and threaten to kill me.
Maybe some Christians are finally waking up.

Amazing how all those churches have portraits of “The Zig-Zag Man”
