NEW YORK (CBS) ¯ Gov. Eliot Spitzer was not expected to continue as governor and may resign by Monday evening, sources told CBS 2, after it was reported that he was linked to a prostitution ring.
Reliable sources told CBS 2 Political Reporter Marcia Kramer that Lt. Gov. David Paterson could be sworn in as governor as early as 7 p.m. Monday.
Anyone think he might not resign and get the usual Democrat pass?
I don’t think so. I think he’s ruffled some feathers somewhere down the line and they want him out of the picture.
Just enough to get you tired and make you stop griping about 'em.
Then again, that may take a while.
Come on, lighten up. The mods are doing a fine job. They'll delete them if they don't want them.
Your post is very accurate:
1. He has NOT been indicted. He was apparently “mentioned” in some sealed “informational papers”, and it seems that some people automatically thought that meant “indicted”.
2. Peter King is right, too... Spitzer’s ONLY coin was his apparent “holier than every other politician”. Between the governorship bungles made earlier this year, and now this, it is clear to everyone that he’s just “politics as usual”.
3. Demodogs for the most part will forgive him, even those who are now claiming “if true, he has to resign.” BS. I heard so many of those fools saying that during the ‘Toon’s years, and not one of them ended up calling for his resignation, as Republicans did during Nixon.
Right now, there are many politicians in NYS who are saying the compulsory “if true, he should resign”, “I’m very disappointed”, “this reflects badly on all of us, but that is really not true: it was only his behavior” “though you are disappointed, you have to remember that the principles of the Demodog party haven’t changed”
I wish that all of them would resign.
Having had some problems with access due to this bandwidth burn today, I am obligated to mention the situation.
Dog thanks for that investigation...we could have pulled our money together perhaps....LOL
This is so rich.....
I’m sure they’ll downplay his role in prosecuting others for this very crime. In fact, they’ll spin and say he really only went after the bosses.
If a republican did this, they’d be all over him cheating on his wife and calling him out for sayng this behavior is immorral.
The big thing is Spitzer put people in Jail for such behvior. So if the MSM gives him a pass (which they’ll try their best to do so) it will be obvious to nearly most everyone else regardless of their spin.
I first said....I cant believe someone is going to make Mario Cuomo look better.....
What is the link of the down site? I wonder if the wayback machine captured it?

I think the Democrats would have some explaining to do if they give Spitzer the usual Democrat pass, then let him retain his super-delegate status, and then have the DNC steal the nomination from Obama.
They would basically be setting themselves up as a lawless, ethicless organization at the time when American voters are paying the most attention.

Spitzer will get away with it. Media reports describe his contractor, Kristen’s employer, as a HIGH CLASS ESCORT SERVICE. AKA DC lobbyist.
He would only be less criminally vulnerable if Kristen were a poor, black, transvestite, street hooker who he was counseling.
IIRC Lt.Gov. Patterson is legally blind. He should nevertheless make an excellent Governor of New York - better than Spitzer....more integrity less hypocracy.

Gnu Yak, Just like I pictured it. Skyscrapers and everythin.”
Buh BYE F’in STEAMROLLER.
I told you he was a punk. A really stoopid punk.
purely an oversight on the editors part, I’m sure../s
The Times just got the court info first...better they do the job than, say, the Post....from a Dem perspective, that is.
A lousy way to get him, but a hypoctite usually falls by his own sword (no matter the size of the sword). That said, it’s about time!!! I wouldn’t hire this guy to wash my car let alone lead a state. Farewell Eliot, and don’t pass Go on the way out.
