NEW YORK (CBS) ¯ Gov. Eliot Spitzer was not expected to continue as governor and may resign by Monday evening, sources told CBS 2, after it was reported that he was linked to a prostitution ring.
Reliable sources told CBS 2 Political Reporter Marcia Kramer that Lt. Gov. David Paterson could be sworn in as governor as early as 7 p.m. Monday.

Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz was also forming a favorable impression of Spitzer at approximately this time and recently said of him: "He has a creative and innovative mind, and he always wants to do what's right."

This may be the most spectacular fall of a politician in my lifetime. Unbelievable!
Who you going to call!
AL AND JESSE to the rescuse........
I know this won’t fit with your post but you will get it. “If only politicians were allowed to marry...”
So are all the crisis pregnancy centers that he tried to shut down for giving out over-the-counter pregnancy tests. So am I. Burn, baby, burn!
Just did a Google search:
http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=spitzer+resign&btnG=Search
and the stories are all over the place...resigns, expected to resign, may resign, does not resign, likely to resign, should resign...
CULTURE OF CORRUPTION!!!
DEMOCRATS!!! DEMOCRATS!!! DEMOCRATS!!!
My thoughts exactly. I know where my priorities lie.
1) Find out what the women looked like who could charge that much.
2) Find out more about this Spitzer dude’s hypocritical past fighting so-called “sex trafficking”.
If you do a Google search for Feminism and Sex Trafficking, you will find that both the left wing and non-libertarians on the right define it as all prostitution, no matter how voluntary, that involves crossing state or national boundaries.
They only spice up their propaganda by mentioning the much rarer cases where the women are doing things against their will (for instance, Condi Rice said something about 40,000 slaves being transported to Germany for the World Cup and the Germans ended up stopping only one van with 5 Polish women who wanted to do what they were planning to do).
I was in Turkey last week which is supposed to be the slave trading capital of the world. Tons of young women are working as prostitutes, but they seem to all have cell phones and designer clothes.
Spitzer deserves to fry because of his hypocrisy in fighting “sex trafficking” while planning to cheat on his wife. Why don’t both liberal and conservative politicians finally realize that men should have some backbone and be honest about what they want, instead of making things illegal because they fear that women voters might not like it if they don’t.
Of course, Marc Rudov is about to appear on Bill OReilly with comments of his own on how great the Spitzer marriage might have been (I have no comment or knowledge on that subject).
Back to the $5500 prostitutes: I was in Hamburg last week on business where I entered, out of curiousity, the most elite gentleman’s club in all of Germany.
I have never seen such attractive prostitutes in my life. But even with the low dollar, they were only $375 per hour.
I won’t cheat on my woman however. I chose properly unlike guys like Spitzer and Bill Clinton who probably got roped into marrying a feminist who could help them get elected as a Democrat.
They repoted a cost of 4,300 for his gal..
Must be very talented!
“Married with 3 daughters”.
My heart breaks for his wife and the girls.
Go ahead GOP, call for an investigation! The Democrat’s are hiding something.
Not Guilty!!!
It certainly sounds like it.
I hope he wasn’t SMOKING In that whorehouse!
It means they will make a hero of him.
