ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- The buck stops here: This is Bush's recession, his legacy.
It could be a chapter in a future edition of Jacob Weisberg's "The Bush Tragedy," with new comparisons to "Henry V" and other great Shakespearean tragedies. In a few sentences, the opening lines could highlight why this is now Bush's recession, and his alone.

Had our president and our vice-president used the bully pulpits that come with both offices and demanded that the congress approve drilling in the 'Pristine Arctic Wilderness' this could have been avoided.
When we stack the oil mess with the housing mess we get a larger mess than this economy can withstand.
When you feel the squeeze, if you haven't already, thank our Elite Political Class from the president on down!

This is Bush's recession, his legacy.Stopped reading here, because you have to draw the line at slanderous nonsense. Ditto for that other hit-piece you posted.
If you want to live in a country where the president is responsible for the economy, you should check into Russia, for starters. Maybe somewhere in Latin America? Perhaps, oh, I dunno, Iran?

It’s my understanding that Alaska oil is high in sulfur and limited in quantity. How would that oil have helped us avoid the present situation?

So our President and VP could just demand from Congress and problem solved. I never thought of that.(/sarcasm off)

Bush tried to drill in ANWAR a couple of times. The rats in congress voted every attempt to do so down.

Is there proof that we’re actually in a recession, or is all this talk nothing more than classic pre-election fear-mongering by the Democrats?

Our politicians wound have us huddled around a 15W CFL bulb trying to stay warm while China burns tons of coal and builds nuke power plants.

Read the whole article and didn't see one sentence from the author on what Bush did or did not do, or should or should not have done to prevent "his" recession.
What a joke.

Hardly!
Our current administration is giving more than mere lip-service to the asinine 'global warming' fiasco!
Our administration hasn't mounted the bully pulpits (yes, Cheney has one too!) to vocally press the issue of drilling for our own oil.
And finally, the freaking ethanol bullcrap. Growing all the corn for the purpose of filling our tanks with an expensive and ridiculous excuse for gasoline.

I wonder if you aren’t aware that an election is coming up and every time that a Repub is in the White House the gloom and doomers write that our economy is tanking, then again you probably are aware.

Hey, forget Congress. That gaggle of nincompoops are NOT the American people. The argument, ala RWR, taken to the American people can accomplish what needs to be done.

Sure. No doubt prices are rising.
But I still haven’t seen proof that we’re in a recession.
