Longer ago than I care to think about, I saw a movie in what I seem to recall was 8th grade history class about the failed assassination attempt on Hitler at the Wolfsschanze in Prussia.
The film appeared to have been made by piecing together a series of security camera (chemical film in those days) footage.
If memory serves me correctly, there was a caption on the film bearing an SS rune and other information about the camera position.
Stauffenberg (or an actor) could be seen entering the facility and a camera inside the conference room captured him placing the briefcase containing the bomb under the table and exiting the room
I do not know if this was genuine camera footage or, a recreation. I suspect it was a recreation as I have never seen it again.
Never-the-less, I mentioned it to my son and he want's to use it as material for a history class assignment.
I've done some searching of likely places such as YouTube but keep coming up empty.
I know there are a number of movies out there about the June 1944 plot but this is the only one I've ever seen that looked as if was documentary footage from captured German security cameras.
If anyone has seen this and knows how to obtain a copy, my sone and I would greatly appreciate it.
In the book “Rise and Fall of the Third Reich” by William L. Shirer there is a very interesting and informative account of the plot to kill Hitler.
July 20th 1944. I was one year old that day.
I remember reading a book called ‘To Kill the Devil’, about this subject.
Oh that’s pretty harsh.
Perosnally I’m very imterested in this subject matter and helping out any parent isn’t a bad thing.
Also....your local library is nowhere close to as vast as the internets

Der gruppenTcherub is just to old to understand that government school educators today are enthralled with multimedia, and in order to get a good grade a child has to meet them on their terms.
You know that is true now you say it.
My son, takes after me, and has the most illegible handwriting imaginable.
Teacher.....well from now on he can type everything out on computer and hand in his work that way (he’s in Gr 3 BTW).
Problem is his next tacher may not be so kind and or tech leaning.....it’s a friggin nightmare navigating this mess.
teacher...need to work on typing until FR adds edit feature.
