Using absolutely poor judgment and acting un-professionally, PGA tour golfer Tripp Isenhour is about to pay the consequences for his selfish act from last December 12 when, at the Grand Cypress Golf course, he purposely killed a migratory bird. Showing no compassion for the habits of creatures, Isenhour, who was filming a segment for 'Shoot Like A Pro,' apparently got frustrated when the red shouldered hawk began making noises and forcing take after take. In a rage, Isenhour,
The lad’s in big, big trouble...
Apparently, he’s also the most accurate golfer who ever lived.
That IS a prerequisite you know.
It tokk him some 8-10 shots before he nailed it.
He did shoot a birdie on that hole!
My favorite line from this livid, out of control diatribe:
“Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.”
Man what a shot! 75 yards away?
But you can’t kill hawks and other birds of prey anymore. We used to see how long of a shot we could make at “chicken eaters” when I was young.
I wonder where author Neil Becker stands on abortion?
Face it, the guy is a typical, self-absorbed jerk on the PGA Tour.
Except unborn children...
“Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.”
Self defense or the need to eat being notable exceptions to this.
2: something resembling a pest in destructiveness; especially : a plant or animal detrimental to humans or human concerns (as agriculture or livestock production)
3: one that pesters or annoys : nuisance
IMO the man, though needing to control himself, did nothing more than what a professional would call “pest control”.
How many pigeons get the same treatment by city-dwellers?
It is a DANG Bird! Just a bird.
I wish he’d come over to my place and knock off a few dozen squirrels. One cannot discharge a firearm in my neighborhood, but I am not aware of any laws against hitting golf balls.
Actually, the shoulder hawk is labled as “least concern” on the conservation list.
Well I mean really....
....I don’t think it’s a slap in the face of common sense to conclude that this man’s stupid action was totally unnecessary.
Now I understand that the enviro-wackos will save a snail-darter over dozens of human babies but this action by this alleged human only makes life more difficult for the more normal amongst us.
Anybody who defends this absurd action too will lose my respect.
From the article:
“Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.”
So, anyone who wears leather, eats meat, or even who protects himself against an animal attack, let alone who uses antibiotics against disease, is just plain, morally wrong.
I see no mention of the fact that this bird was wasting hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of this man's money.
Have we all gone insane? It was only decades ago that these hawks were regarded as vermin and shot on sight. I am not saying that was proper, but putting them up on a pedestal above human rights is truly insane.
moider in the second degee.
