The lad’s in big, big trouble...
Apparently, he’s also the most accurate golfer who ever lived.
That IS a prerequisite you know.
My favorite line from this livid, out of control diatribe:
“Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.”
Man what a shot! 75 yards away?
But you can’t kill hawks and other birds of prey anymore. We used to see how long of a shot we could make at “chicken eaters” when I was young.
I wonder where author Neil Becker stands on abortion?
Face it, the guy is a typical, self-absorbed jerk on the PGA Tour.
“Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.”
Self defense or the need to eat being notable exceptions to this.
2: something resembling a pest in destructiveness; especially : a plant or animal detrimental to humans or human concerns (as agriculture or livestock production)
3: one that pesters or annoys : nuisance
IMO the man, though needing to control himself, did nothing more than what a professional would call “pest control”.
How many pigeons get the same treatment by city-dwellers?
It is a DANG Bird! Just a bird.
From the article:
“Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.”
So, anyone who wears leather, eats meat, or even who protects himself against an animal attack, let alone who uses antibiotics against disease, is just plain, morally wrong.
I see no mention of the fact that this bird was wasting hundreds, if not thousands of dollars of this man's money.
Have we all gone insane? It was only decades ago that these hawks were regarded as vermin and shot on sight. I am not saying that was proper, but putting them up on a pedestal above human rights is truly insane.
Nobody has the right, no matter what, to take the life of a living creature.
I wonder if he knows that carrots are living creatures too.
And what do hawks eat anyway?
This would make a good PGA tv commercial with the announcer ending it with “These guys are good.”
One of my proudest childhood memories. Sliced its wing and it augured right into the ground. Take that, mister PGA Pro.
Also, what was the condition of the course? What about the kikuyu grass in the second cut rough -- did that change his grip? Was crowd noise a factor? How does he think Tiger is hitting the ball this year?
How does HE mark his Titleist?
NOBODY is good enough to hit a bird with a golf shot deliberately; the hawk’s luck simply ran out.
He killed it with GOLF BALLS? I thought he “shot “ it. Dumb bird. You would have thought after the first few he would have moved on. One endangered species challenging another endangered species. Too bad the bird just didn’t fly away and died but getting past that I find this kind of funny.
