All Illinois gun owners are invited to join in Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day (IGOLD) in Springfield in 2008. This is an annual event where the members directly lobby their representatives in the Illinois House and Senate. The ISRA is partnering with local and internet organizations in Illinois to increase attendance and make a bigger & better impression in Springfield. The other participating organizations are Illinois Carry, Champaign County Rifle Assoc. and Sangamon County Rifle Assoc. Get your local organization involved as well!
We will meet in the Grand Ballroom of the Springfield Hilton at 12:00 noon for registration. We will have a legislative briefing, then we will all proceed to the Capitol Building to locate and talk with our representatives. We will have a reception at the Illinois State Library Auditorium from 4:30 pm until 7:00 pm. We are urging all participants to stay until the end of the reception. This is a very important part of the day, as the state's legislators have been invited to attend.
Please join us for Illinois Gun Owners Lobby Day, you won't regret going.

Bus Info
Forget the hassle of parking near the Capitol! IGOLD will have buses going to Springfield from strategic locations throughout Illinois. Ride the bus, ride with your friends.
These gun rights organizations and manufacturers are sponsoring the buses to offset your cost: ISRA, CCRA/GSL, PK Firearms of Shelbyville, Springfield Armory, Rock River Arms, Armalite, and DSArms
Click here for information on the bus routes. Need more info now, or want to sponsor a bus? Contact the ISRA Office! On-line sign up is available for most buses. Apparel: Wear whatever you'd feel comfortable in while you are meeting your representatives, and don't forget you'll also be representing the rest of your fellow Illinois gun owners. Business casual is suggested, dress up if you want. We suggest that you don't wear any camo. Security: After the tragedy in 2005, there are now metal detectors in the Capitol Building that you will have to pass through on your way in, so please think ahead for this: no knives, novelty ammo keyfobs, etc. Bring proper identification. Who: You, of course! ...and bring a friend.
Need a huge crowd to defend 2nd Amendment rights in Illinois.
What you need to do first is get rid of the Daley machine (of which B. Hussein Osamabama is a part). Otherwise NO gun-rights are safe in Illinois...
If you live in Illinois or know gun owning friends get to Springfield on Tuesday. Our legislature needs to see the IGOLD shirts and that gun owners; especially women and college students are serious about gun rights.
A few thousand people get there attention.
My place on the bus is bought and paid for, and I fully intend to be there.
This looks good. Please add me to your ping list if you have one.
Hey Joe, How about giving this a bump?
Cool! My seat is bought and paid for too!
Spread the word, see you on Tuesday
I live in California... and it’s getting ALMOST as bad, though they have yet to try to outright ban or confiscate, though there are those who’d LOVE that... Pistol packin’ Don Perata is one of them, but we finally got him termed out of the legislature... after he and another Rat, who’s gone this year also, tried to get real slick and add another 12 years to themselves... basically gutting our term limits law. Fortunately we saw through it and it went down in flames, so the biggest gun-grabbing bastards are GONE. Now we have to get the smaller ones out of there!
You folks in Illinois need to get rid of YOUR gun-grabbers, particularly the Daley machine. That one city could dictate the preferences of one set of scumbags to the whole state is unconscionable!!! Problem is, it’s one of those “bi-partisan” issues... Neither branch of the ruling party really wants us to have access to weapons; after all, it’s not out of the question that we could come after THEM one fine day... And their overall agenda almost guarantees that to be the end result, sooner or later!
I live in California... and its getting ALMOST as bad
From what I know of Kali gun law, you have it worse. You have an approved gun list (I've got a Ruger LCP on order -- doubt you'll ever see one there.), a 10 round magazine limit, ugly gun ban (I see what has to be done to ARs to make them California legal -- uggh. And AKs are right out.). And now there's that silly microstamping thing.
Excluding the blighted upper right corner, Illinois doesn't have any of that. Not that the usual suspect don't keep trying.
though they have yet to try to outright ban or confiscate,
I recollect that they banned SKS' modified to take AK magazines.
On the plus side, you actually have CCW. Not that most people, most places have a prayer of getting one.
RKBA Illinois - Today’s the day! Can you stop by and talk with your public servants?
FreepNORAD ping.
(Senators are in the capitol. Most reps are in the most butt ugly office building you have ever seen. EEeuuuu!)
What bus were you on?
I rode the bus from Rosemont. I had a great time and saw some of my old Shooting buddies.
ISRA URGENT ALERT YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION REQUIRED
Larry Suffredin and his cohorts on the Cook County Board are up to their old tricks again.
In order to justify passage of gun control ordinances designed to close all gun shops and ban and confiscate most guns owned by citizens of the county, the Cook County Board is conducting a telephone poll where callers can vote for or against the gun control ordinances.
Like everything else in Cook County, this poll is probably rigged. So, its very important that you do the following:
1. Call 1-312 -603-6400 and select Option #1 when prompted. At the next prompt, select Option #1 again. Then, when prompted to vote on the gun control ordinance, press #2.
2. You should also forward this alert on to all your gun owning friends and have them vote too.
3. You should also post this alert to any and all Internet bulletin boards or blogs to which you belong.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A RESIDENT OF COOK COUNTY TO VOTE!
Lets beat Suffredin at his own game! And, save your guns.
