WASHINGTON For all the success that Democratic presidential candidates have had in raising money taking in a combined total of over $500 million in the current race the Republicans are beating them in one crucial area of fund-raising: the money being raised by the parties themselves.
The Democratic National Committee ended 2007 nearly flat broke, with cash of $2.9 million and debts of $2.2 million. Since then it has raised some money, paid down debt and managed to put $3.7 million in its piggy bank. This compares, however, with $25 million that the Republican National Committee has in cash on hand, after having raised $97 million since the beginning of 2007.
And with Senator John McCain now the presumptive Republican nominee, party officials started plotting with his campaign this week on deploying those resources against the well-financed Democratic candidacies of Senators Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama.
Already, President Bush, who spoke at 29 Republican fund-raisers and is credited with raising $63.5 million last year, is lined up for more R.N.C. fund-raising in the weeks ahead. This money is likely to provide the financial muscle for Mr. McCain to continue his attacks on both Democratic candidates.
The Republican National Committees strength is an important indicator, said Alex Conant, the R.N.C. spokesman. The D.N.C. has had trouble raising money, and the R.N.C. is well-positioned to help our nominee financially. It is our mission to get McCain elected president, and that is our focus. Fund-raising is a priority.

I doubt the veracity of this. Myself and everyone I know stop giving to the RNC a while back and support individuals only. They still haven’t paid me on the invoice I sent them last year for using my money to promote crappy RINO candidates.
I remember reading Barron’s in 2006, and they predicted that the gop would keep control of the congress. Thanks to the edge they had in campaign contributuins. Well, it didn’t turn out that way. So it’s how the gop will spend the money that’s important. I say go on offense, start attacking the left. every problem that we have can be blamed on liberal thought and practice, so it’s time to take them apart.
I wonder how much the RNC will raise/has raised since McCain’s rise to power? It’s strange how excited the GOP was in 2007 and how blah the Dems were, and now it looks like the exact opposite is true.
But I’d say as it closes on November, GOP will be energetic again, even despite McMedia’s darndest efforts. Just wait until the money starts pouring in after the the nomination of whichever commie wins, I’d say the gap will close, though and it will be a close money race....but I could be wrong. I’m definately no pundit :D :D :D
Often times these articles spur some to go ahead and give to their party to keep the other party from “having more” in their warchest.
The RNC called me yesterday begging for a donation. They said they were getting pummeled by the dnc. LOL
True. In 2006, the RNC concentrated much of its spending on defeating conservatives in primaries.
Thanks for posting some good news.
There’s two good reasons to link the printer friendly version when you link liberal sources: you deny them revenue from the advertizing on the regular webpage and people with only dialup service suffer from having to wait forever for all that advertizing to download.

Additional proof, if needed, can be witnessed right here on FR.
“The RNC called me yesterday begging for a donation. They said they were getting pummeled by the dnc.”
We are. If you look at total numbers raised, not RNC v DNC, but the campaigns overall, you have a lot more on the Democrat side.
“More proof the conservatives are a dying breed. I will never give money to the RNC, yet someone is, in large enough amounts to out spend the DNC and Obama mania.
At one time, I thought we were truly the silent majority.”
A noisy and contributing minority beats a silent and inactive majority every time.
The devil's money will flow, now that they have the devil's candidate.
