At least one deserter, faced with determined opposition by the Crown to his claim for "refugee status", has given up and gone back to the US to take his lumps from the military justice system.

Not only was he losing at the tribunal level and on appeal but he saw that no US deserter was getting any sympathy from the Crown or any of the tribunals and courts involved.

I still suspect roving anarchists; where their money comes from, I have no idea, but they seem to have the bucks to cruise the universe, showing up in one country or another long enough to cause trouble and then move on.
