To maximize the carnage, he needs to wait until the convention.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t this what conventions are for? I mean there will be a vote that will include the superdelegates. One or the other candidate will get the majority needed and go on to the nomination. I don’t see where the superdels are required to vote either way. So how would that constitute stealing the nomination if Hillary wins? Esp if they are very very close in the end.

The best public service Al Gore could perform would be to
help the Democrat Party self-destruct.
If he did that, I'd forgive him for holding the country hostage to his own political lust for power for one very long month in 2000.

With all the hatred between Hillary and Al over the VP Office space back in 1993, there is no way Al will be able to come in as a peace maker.

To maximize the carnage, he needs to wait until the convention. He needs to wait until right after the first ballot, then announce himself as a candidate!

Oh, how I hope that Gore will step in to “save” the party! In the fever swamp of identity politics that is the democrat party I can only imagine how the appearance of an aging, white, Southern male whose entire life bellows “establishment politician” will effect rabid feminists and racists that form the party nucleus.
