Venezuela’s justice minister declared that war “has already begun.”
Venezuelian radiostation attacked by Colombian forces...etc.

If those Venezuelan soldiers were Patriots first, they’d shoot him in the head first chance they got. It would be REAL nice to see YUUUUUgo have .308 ballistic cranial surgery performed on him by some young Venezualan solider who loves his country more than his comfort.
Better to be the guard than the guarded, I guess...

Yes, but the reports I’ve seen seem to be just FARC speculating on what an Obama administration’s policies would be as regards Columbia.

I agree but that's far easier said than done. History is full of dictators hated by those who guard them. It takes a conspiracy of many to pull something like that off. Or it takes one man with the capability and the willingness to commit suicide.

Understood. But there’s ALWAYS more of “us” than there are of “them”. The socialists have always been the minority getting control of the majority.
The majority has to wake up and NOT be afraid. How different would it have been if the Werhmacht simply refused to follow Hitler and turned on the SS? The SS were outnumbered hundreds to one. True, they were fanatical, but in the end numbers and firepower always prevail.

“To the victor go the spoils.”
Unless you’re the USA. I tell some of the crackpots I know that “Iraq couldn’t hope to be invaded by a nicer country than the USA!” And then ask them to tell me what it would look like if China, Russia, or Iran did.

Touche! I had forgotten about all the IRA types working down there with FARC. Maybe a sequel to Patriot Games is in the works. One with an unhappier ending for the Brits. A dirty bomb at Victoria Station perhaps???

You know it would be so nice to see a conventional ICBM loaded with tungsten kinetic penetrator rods take out his palace. Itd be like a bolt out of the blue for Vennie commies.
An actual nuclear weapon would work better.

What is even more exposed than the capitals of Venezuela & Ecuador is Venezuela's oil production capability near the Colombian border.
Rather than confront the Venezuelan troops, why not just capture Hugo's oil? Checkmate! Game Over!
