Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), buoyed by important victories in the Democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, on Wednesday offered some words of warning to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who had urged Republicans to vote for her as the presumptively easier Democrat to beat.
“Be careful what you wish for, Rush,” Clinton said on Fox News.
For the second time during this campaign season, the former first lady survived what many viewed as a potential knockout punch from frontrunning Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.). While Obama maintains a significant delegate lead, he was unable to seal the nominations Tuesday night, having to concede another two populous states to Clinton.
“By getting the most delegates, by having won twice as many states, by having a lead in the popular vote we feel as if we are on pace to get the nomination,” Obama said Wednesday morning in an appearance on the same network. “And it will take a little longer than would be true if we weren’t running against a Clinton, but we’re still going to end up getting it.”
However, instead of being able to focus on Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the newly crowned Republican nominee, Obama must now continue to expend his considerable resources on the Democratic primary.
The Clinton campaign is seeking to use the breathing room the former first lady was given in polling places in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island to map out its “path to the presidency,” as a memo from strategists Harold Ickes and Mark Penn was labeled.

True. There is nothing like the prospect of President Hillary Rodham Clinton to make one appreciate the joys of divided government.
Here's how Hildy benefitted GREATLY from winning the popular vote yesterday:
She now can go to the Rat elites, big donors, etc. and have a demonstrable basis for questioning Obama's electability. She says, "See, he can't win the BIG states, only I consistently did that."
These wins didn't give her delegates, but they gave her a tremendous amount of power in terms of influencing the party hacks and those who will broker this convention.
Plus, by immediately mentioning that she would consider Obama as her running mate---which was completely predictable and politically necessary---she has signaled that "no one loses" by voting for her. IOW, if she gets the nomination, Obama's voters still win b/c he will be on the ticket. That's why it was necessary to give Mrs. Bill Clinton a knock-out punch yesterday, not give her more power, as Rush's stunt did.

They helped contribute to Clinton’s winning the nomination. If she is President, they get what they deserve, as do the morons who jumped off the cliff with them when they voted for Clinton.
Exactly. The strategy is to keep them tied and fighting, and spending money the whole way. The tactics change, the strategy does not. McCain is a lame candidate. He doesn't have a lot of money, and that is entirely HIS fault. He needs to face a weakened candidate or he is toast.

It’s a whole lot easier to go negative on Hillary, really no one considers her a woman or the least bit feminine or vulnerable. Plus, she’s a Clinton so she get’s to bear the baggage of Bill as well.
Obama, on the other hand, is black. All negative attacks will be framed in that light.
Rush was right to encourage the crossover. Now they will tear each other apart, go all the way to the convention, and Hillary will see to Michigan and Florida being seated and steal the nomination.
And yet, she also claims that no Republican would ever vote for her.
She can still lie even when she tells the truth.

Actually, the strongest countervailing argument is that electing a murtadd fitri as POTUS will enrage the Muslim world, hopefully finally concentrating the mind of the American (and more generally Western) left on the danger posed by Islam.
Quite a stretch. You don't think that a politician who built his career on favors with corrupt characters isn't going to accept a deal from the Queen of corruption?

He will also need extra body guards, food tasters and any other safety measure you can think of...I pity anyone who stands behind Hillary and the White House.
I think so too. But Obama does have his advantages: His age. He’ll look great next to McCain. His rhetoric: he’s an awesome speaker. McCain does fine, but Obama has a rare gift (forget about the fact that he has nothing to say). His main message: change (people want it; forget about the fact that change is neutral and that people aren’t asking change to what). Obama can score on all of these. But if the MSM continues to ask him questions like they should (not at all guaranteed) and Obama stamps away like he did the other day, then some people, probably enough, will see the emperor with no clothes. When people really start to listen to Obama and his wife talk down about the US and up about the world, enough people will vote for McCain. And who do people want to answer that phone call at 3 am? And besides, many Dems are at heart bigots.
I think that McCain can beat Obama. He really is the emperor with no clothes. So is Hillary, but even with her negatives, I think she would receive more votes in the general against McCain than Obama. But I still don’t think enough.
