Clinton: ‘Be careful what you wish for, Rush’ By Klaus Marre Posted: 03/05/08 09:30 AM [ET]

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.), buoyed by important victories in the Democratic primaries in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island, on Wednesday offered some words of warning to conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, who had urged Republicans to vote for her as the presumptively easier Democrat to beat.

“Be careful what you wish for, Rush,” Clinton said on Fox News.

For the second time during this campaign season, the former first lady survived what many viewed as a potential knockout punch from frontrunning Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.). While Obama maintains a significant delegate lead, he was unable to seal the nominations Tuesday night, having to concede another two populous states to Clinton.

“By getting the most delegates, by having won twice as many states, by having a lead in the popular vote we feel as if we are on pace to get the nomination,” Obama said Wednesday morning in an appearance on the same network. “And it will take a little longer than would be true if we weren’t running against a Clinton, but we’re still going to end up getting it.”

However, instead of being able to focus on Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), the newly crowned Republican nominee, Obama must now continue to expend his considerable resources on the Democratic primary.

The Clinton campaign is seeking to use the breathing room the former first lady was given in polling places in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island to map out its “path to the presidency,” as a memo from strategists Harold Ickes and Mark Penn was labeled.

In the document, the Clinton team says it is “time for a second look” on the race and the candidates and argued that the “momentum has swung

Rush is running a "Vote for the Worst" campaign, Sanjaya-style.

I would have preferred to stick the stake through her dark heart yesterday, but she still stalks the night.

I totally agree. I thought Bush would easily beat Gore-—and what a mess that was. I repeat: I’m bracing for a Hillary presidency, unless something monumental happens.

When Jimmy Carter's attempt at rescuing the hostages in Tehran failed, the Democratic Party had castrated itself. The only problem with that was that they had also castrated our brave soldiers, and the rest of our military in the process. The Soviet Union could have destroyed us right then, but failed to move on the opportunity. Rush wanting his listeners to play with their vote is the most un-American thing he has ever done. I used to be a fan of his before this election. Never again.

From 1988 to 2002, when there were no national Conservative leaders in America, there was Rush. Rush helped elect the freshman class in 1994.

Rush built that from Clinton, without HER, there would be no Rush. They are two peas in a pod. They deserve each other. I have never listened to him, but thanks to him, I'm going to have to listen to her for 8 years just so he can have easy material to rant about.

If you are saying that we should vote for McCain in order to prevent Hillary from gaining the White House. I don’t agree with this. McCain is a terrible candidate. I won’t vote for him. However, even if every conservative held their nose and voted McCain, I don’t think he will win. The enthusiasm is on the Dem side-this will carry on in the general and the Dems will win. I just hope Hillary is not the winner!

Da*n right! With Hillary as the nominee and Barak as her VP, there's no way McCain can stop them and we'll have Clintons in the white house for another 8 years.

Perhaps this is what Rush and all the other , so called conservative, talk show hosts want. They probably received a business opportunity offer from Bubba they couldn't resists; piece of the action from the Pardons-R-Us franchises he intends to launch. A kiosk in every strip mall, check cashing emporium and Bail Bonds office.

Thank you for saying that well. If Rush truly had that much influence things would be different.
Hill won Texas by 98,223 votes.... Somehow I can’t believe 98,000 plus republicans voted for Hill because Rush said it was a good idea.

Rush is an idiot. so is Mark Levin. They both told us to vote for Hillary. They just elected President Hillary. Get ready for socialized healtcare and a 8 month wait time to see a doctor. The problem with healthcare now is that there is too much government involvement not too little.

Don’t these bozos realize that women are the vast majority of voters and of the population. millions more women will register for the first time to vote for the first women president. It’s simple demographics, men die much earlier than women do. These women won’t know the damage Hillary will cost to the U.S. They don’t know that socialism and big government programs don’t work ( look at the schools and USSR collapsing). Heck , most voters don’t even know what socialism is thanks to the government education they received.

Funny how Rush never told us to vote for any conservative like TAncredo, Thompson, Hunter, Romney but now tells us to vote for Hillary.

I agree we may be doomed--although you seem to lack an appreciation of Rush's Machavellian maneuver--to keep Hillary and Barack fighting right up until six months after their superdelegates vote.

Meanwhile, I should think you would be hysterically happy since you may be able, with your vote, to return the Clintons to the White House for the third time--perhaps for a total of 16 years.

.

This is another great example of McCain’s wit and why people from all sides of the spectrum like him .

We have to hope that Dems will force Clinton out because she can not win on elected delegates and there are growing sign that the Dems do not want the Supers going against the voters wishes.

Fox news got 800 emails this morning on Fox and Friends who said they crossed over from McCain to vote for Hillary

Michelle malking in this mornings posting indicates that 10% of Texas and Ohio votes were crossovers.

Nothing like a little class warfare to bolster your Conservative cred, huh?

You mean the statement about sicing the IRS on the lot? That's class warfare?

Rush built that from Clinton, without HER, there would be no Rush.

What nonsense. Rush was the most popular talk show host while George H. W. Bush was in office. In the 16 years I've been listening to him someone has always said, "Well, if X wins, Rush will be in trouble." It never matters. It never has.

"...no I think I will be satisfied when Hillary wins..... BECAUSE RUSH ELECTED HER!!!!!!!"

All of the Freepers who are posting these inane forecasts of doom should save their posts. They will make a nice breakfast for them on the day after election day.

Rush was also giving a middle finger to McCain and others that say he and conservatives have no power. We have far more power than we realize.

WEllll that is one way of describing what Rush believed he was compelled to do. It got to a point of H E L L O watching Obama's voice casting a hypnotic powder over his masses and NOBODOY was asking who is this guy except Hillary.

Hugh? If Clinton is elected they get what they get, that is their doing...I find it hilarious that you would bring up “conservative cred” with all of these morons who voted for Hillary Clinton.

Then and only then, they’ll (perhaps) realize, they were naive and self-centered to allow their all-consuming hatred of one man to come before, the future of their formerly great nation.

I'm not grasping this. Who is the "one man" to whom you refer?
